My best gyp is coming in and I've got a big hunt planned this weekend. Anyone ever use products some dog supply companys sell so you can take your gyp hunting or have a home remedy. A friend of mine says I can put mentholatum around tail. Has anyone every heard of using this.

If you use any products make sure you take it with you in your pocket because it is best to reapply as needed, gets worn off after a a little bit

You don't have to apologize it sounded like a good idea. I just had a bad day today and wanted to go and try my privite land place and burn some steam off for a couple hours. Found some fresh rooting as soon as I steped in the woods and had to deal with three horny dogs as soon a I droped the tail gate. Thought I'd put a male back in the truck and let my bitch run and lead the bull dog. Would have worked except the dog in the truck wouldn't shut up. So I just turned around and went home. Just one of those days you know...

I have a full set of females that I hunt together when one is in heat. Thats the ONLY way to make sure you don't have a problem.

not trying to pick, but i disagree, iv seen a dog trash a skunk and know he got sprayed in the nose and then got on hogs after that, and the same dog struck the hogs, now i'm sure he would have struck earlier if there was'nt a skunk before the hog, but if they can smell a hog after a skunk, then they can smell after the vicks!!

Go to your vet and ask for A drug called Mibolerone. The generic name is Cheque Drops. 0.6ml a day for a 50lb. gyp will keep her from coming in.
