These 2 were shot this weekend while we were hunting my cousins small ranch in Lexington. Both deer were 5.5 and were considered very good management deer.

This is a picture of the 2nd buck after he was shot. Taken with a digital camera. You can see where he hit him back about 8" behind shoulder. Deer was quartered to him so it exited in the guts. It went about half a mile and weren't able to find it til next day.

this guy is coming to my corn every night in New Waverly. He was actually under my stand opening afternoon but I was hunting at my cousin's. He'll be meeting Mr. EASTON very soon

Justin I saw your buddies deer on Texashuntingforum and it is a great buck!  A 140" net 8pt is an incredible deer no matter where it was taken.  I think he grossed somewhere around 149".

Tony those are also some good deer to have taken by bow, look forward to seeing yours when hes on the ground.

LThogdogger:

They live about 4 miles north of Lexington off of Hwy 77. I think it's the country road is #411 to the right. It's before you get to Tanglewood. There place is a few miles down the county road on the left

Matt, The pics of this deer don't do him justice at all, I saw him the previous evening at 65yds and he was a bruiser, I scored him after we got done cleaning him and when I got the score at first I was a bit hesitant so I rechecked him and came up with almost the exact same score, anyway I had him at 147 and some change with almost 8" of deductions. that would put him at 139 and then mickey had a taxidermist score him later sunday evening and he scored him at 148 1/8.......between the 2 of us scoring on seperate occasions we only had 1 1/8" of difference! that deer was huge! btw this deer was taken of the edge of the beaumont city limits!
