after working the last 2 weeks and putting in a bunch of hours this week I finally got another hunt in. Got a call a couple days ago from a land owner with quiet a few hogs in some country that's a lil rougher then I'm used to. Got with the land owner a lil after dark and got things clickin'. Didn't realize he had some more family up there that were doing night shooting. They done shot 2 and we made a round in a river bottom. After a skunk and a cow scaring my young dog (he kinda ran into it barked once and got kicked) so that got him right and land owner understood what happened thank goodness. Get a call that the hogs are up top. Get up there and they have a big hog spotted with night vision. dumped the dogs and they go the opposite direction. New dog was a lil lost and was sittin' in the road about 500 yds away so I run down to get him and gonna lead him to a bay. Get all but 1 dog rounded up to go after this boar and my Ol' Ely dog is showing treed half a mile away. Get within' 400 yds and hear him bayed. Send him some help and go in about 300 yds towards the bay. Get within 50 and cut my Biggun dog that's 16 months old he runs in hits like a train and sits like an anchor. bout a 175 lb sow caught. Gonna take her out alive but was in a steep canyon so I cut her down. Heard 2 shots on the way to the bay and had 2 other hogs down. Didn't get on any more but wasn't real happy with the gun fire. I'm sure that scattered them all over the country but land owner was pleased and said he'd gimme a call again. Didn't get time for many pics but here's one.

Sounds like a wild hunt. Cant really tell but from the pic it looks like a blue hog. Dont blame you at all, shots fired with dogs on the ground would make me a little frazzled.

I'm not fond of other people firing guns when my dogs are around either. Good part is, you brought home some bacon. Smiley Good job.
