Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

Not much of a story to tell, was actually a pretty quick hunt. we all gathered at the same spot we always do, to try and get a game plan together. It was starting to break daylight, and we needed to find a track pretty quick, because we had 100% chance of rain movin in fast, so we started digging in to find a track before the rain hit and washed them all out. We got lucky and found this track just as it started to drizzle. Turned several dogs loose and had him jumped in no time. So I drove around and went up a branch where they usually cross. He had already crossed the trail I was on, and was just on the ridge above me, on my left and the dogs were putting the heat on him. He turned straight back down and behind me, so i hollered on the radio to the guy behind me that it was coming back down the branch then..........BOOM, ........BOOM, I got down there and he said it bout ran him over trying to cross back over the trail. LOL Said he thought he missed. Well it went down the branch a little further and crossed and came right back up the branch, just about 20 yrs or so, but its so thick we cant see nothin, just following the dogs. It tried to cross back over the trail right in front of me, but I must have turned it, because the dogs lost it there for a minute and a couple got threw out. So we got all the dogs lined back out, and they holler on the radio that they seen it crossing a field with dogs in tow headed right for the hwy. Now its an all out race to turn the bear, or keep it from crossing the hwy, as not to get dogs run over. The dogs must have turned the heat up crossing the field cause he treed just inside the first patch of woods. I made it back out to the truck and headed to where it was, and started in and BOOM......It was over. Thanks for lookin
