I am new to hog doggin and here are some videos of my two pups. This is their 3rd time to ever see a pig, and both times before have been on just a little baby pig. This hog here is still pretty small, roughly 50 lbs, but pretty rowdy. My plan is a time or two more in the pen with this boar, then some mock hunts with him, then after that, they will be running the woods with the big dogs to see what they can do. I dont wanna work them in a pen too much, but would like them to get the hang of things. Like I said I am new to this, but my girls made me pretty happy with what they showed me today.

My pups are the brindle(8mo old) and the black and tan(7mo old). The red one is one of my buddies who is a loose baying non catchy dog we threw in to try and help out the pups.

Thanks for the kind words. I got this little pig to do some staged hunts for the pups. My brindle pup(Winnie) seems to be the more gritty one in the few times she has seen a pig. The black and tan(Remmie) seems to be the better hunter of the two when I take them on walks through the woods with me. Remmie has already chased deer, skunks, and coyotes. If I can get her focused on hogs I think she will make a heck of a dog. I dropped her on my feeder which has hogs showing up daily the other day and she took off with her nose to the ground for a good ways seeming to try and work a track out.  Winnie girl doesnt roll out as good as my other pup, but she still gets out with her nose to the ground looking for something. Like I said I am new to hog doggin, but I think as soon as I can get these pups on a hog in the woods, that both of them will turn on. When deer season is over and we get our hog hunting grounds back, both of them will be running the woods with the big dogs. I have hunted behind all the parents to both of these pups and they can sure enough get it done, so I have high hopes for these pups.

i argee good job with training so far man looks like u might have some show stoppers...
something i do when working a pup before running them with big dogs at that age id hobble u about a 60-75 pound pig, drag it through the woods on its side for about a hundred yards out tie it to a tree to where it doesnt get loose, and then go back grab the pups and run only the pups alone if it takes a while to sniff him out then grab an older dog and let the pups tag along.
it teaches them how to grab a scent trail and helps build confidence, something they need at that age in my opinion.
