I got z couple of PMs yesterday from Trenton ( t.wilbanks ) and Travis ( KerDog77 ) just updating me on their Blade/Petra pups.

From the get go, Trenton's jade pup has been straight catch. He told me yesterday he put her on a 60 pounder trying to back her off and she caught right off the bat. But, he also said he has a pack of loose dogs and a pack of catchy dogs and she will be Ok either way.

Travis said his is all energy and spunk. Hasnt been on a pig yet but he doesnt take anything off older pups and gets up giving what he got or better. And Travis asked about the next litter, so to me that speaks well too.

I know maverick10's twisted was baying pretty hard and showing a lot of promise.

and my Frigg and Kraken show a lot of heart and when I let them out they get out and do a lot of puppy hunting. Seems to be a lot of prey drive there.

I hope to get a couple of pics of my 2 today. I have to say they are damn fine looking pups. Now if they keep on in the direction they seem to be and turn out, it will be all good.

Well Bobby as for Hurley, the male I got he is doing good here.  He's seen a few hogs  and started baying but they have been big hogs in the trap, I haven't been able to catch a small 1 for him.  When he is loose at the ranch he seems to use his nose alot.  Last week we were checking traps, he was in the back of the truck in the box, I pulled up down wind of the trap which had 2 sows walked to let him out and he was throwing his nose up then threw a few barks.  I let him out and he went strait to the hogs and bayed a lil.  I was like a proud farther lol.  So yes I am pleased so far.

Even with a pig she cant get to in the trailer, she will not hardly bark... just runs around it until she can get to a spot where she can try to grap it through the panel.....  I dont have the "catchy" pack yet, but by the time her and another pup i have get old enough to start in the woods i should have one ready... Those two pups plus my gsp/pit should put a stop to some of these hogs that only bay up for a minute or two and then try to leave out...

But i am really hoping that once she gets alittle more age on her and i can pup her on a decent size hog she will back up....
I only plan on using the catchy pack on small properties that people want the hogs gone quick... As far as my pleasure hunting, i will stick with the loose crew....   I like going to a bay alot more than going to a caught hog...  Wink

Thanks again Bobby....

bobby i`ve been worken SWAG with my plott/cur cross pups on a 200lb puppy hog. so far he he like to bay nice and tight and try to get a bite on the tail when the hog moves. but being the puppy he is, he looses concentration and tries to play with the other pups when there bayen. but as soon as the hog moves he is all about buisness again.

SWAG and my ARLISS pup have it out for each other. i keep all 3 in a 16x32 kennel and REMI is the boss. so i have been worken SWAG with REMI to cut down on the playen and sure enough he is all about buisness. i watched them bay 7 200lber plus boars through the cattle panels for awhile last weekend on there own.

I let him run through the woods with the other pups and there getting out pretty good noses on the ground in the air winding. he always finds his way to the hog traps. So in all i could`nt be happier with him. i would like to get a female from a latter breeding if u ever make the cross again.

Lol sorry had a long night and I'm moving a little slow....yeah Trenton we bring a whole new meaning to walk hunting sometimes.  My legs cramp up just thinking about that day.

Here's the best picture I could get of Hondo.  I've put him on a few smaller hogs and he is doing great.  Been making a few scent trails and letting him work him and he seems to have a good nose.
