Last Friday night I decided that I NEED a dedicated trailer setup for hunting.  Saturday morning I met up with Jason (JML) at his fab shop and we put the box together, installed a new 2-5/16 bulldog coupler, new jack, and some stubby ramps.   Sunday I got to test out the trailer with a decent boar hog. The box worked well, but I thought a game hoist would help with loading hogs, cleaning them, and weighing them.  So Monday evening I went to work building a hoist with a swivel.  Got everything done except the swivel. Tuesday morning I had a machine shop turn some 2.5 od round stock into 1.62 od so that it would slip inside the 2" square tubing and allow the two halves to swivel.  I can now hoist a hog from the ground and use the hoist to load it onto the trailer deck, or into the hog box.  The hoist also reduces to 1/2 height for transport.

Here are the pictures of the new trailer/box/and hoist.  All that is needed now is some paint.

The ring in the center of the 2x2x1/2 angle is to hook my winch hook to while transporting the mule

cool trailer.... now build me one 14ft with a 4 dog box on front, side loading 4wheeler with tie downs, and a hog box on rear with a sliding gate and divider. and the hoist, that's a dang good idea to save the back for sure laugh

Dabutcher,

You don't want to throw good money at my poor craftsmanship....  Wink  But if you insist I will make you a package deal on the Mule, trailer, and hoist....

Slim,
Maybe we will get lucky and be able to put it to good use this weekend.

Matt,

I bought a scale to go along with it, and I "fixed" the hooks so that they actually work.

Hey, you really ought to check out those welds on the hog box. Jason does them absolutely blind (eyes closed). It's impressive welding, and then when you realize how he does it you are just in awe.

Cheers

Krystal,

I would hate to think of myself as a copycat, so I will refrain from painting the trailer pink. Thomas is the only one that I know that can really pull off the pink Grin

I am tempted to get the trailer hot dip galvanized, but I am not sure that it is worth the effort. Easiest thing is to shoot it with some flat black paint.

Chris,
Great looking trailer for sure.  The only thing that I would add is dog boxes on top of hog box and a divider on hog box so you can put multiple hogs in box safely.  Now that I am thinking aobut it a water tank and bbq pit as well! :Smiley
