Well with the time change it's gettin' dark bout 6 or so. So against my better judgement I decided to make a run with Dusty E off here. He hasn't got to hunt a whole lot so it was good to get to take him along again. Loaded up my 20 month old BMC Max, Kemmer Cur Ely, Big Mike (Biggun) dusty's dogs Dee and the big blue Kobey. Got going bout 8 and made a round around a quarter section I can drive on and dang dogs got on a coon. Got to do some trash breakin' on Max. Got that taken care of and didn't come up with nothin' there so I started north where we've seen tracks of a Big Boar. On the way there Ely strikes outta the box that's pretty well enclosed. Stopped and looked around and seen some fresh tracks since it rained all day. Cut them loose and Max takes out to 625 yds and garmin shows him runnin' but he stays in the same spot for about 5 mins so we start to him and ely is 700 north of there. garmin gets some act right about it and they are 3/4 miles away. Well the next mile section over is a state highway. drive around and they've showed treed for about 10 mins. They are about 600 yds off the highway. finally drive with in 250 yds and get a 135-140 lb sow caught up. dusty flips the hog and there are 2 guys, 5 dogs, and NO Trees lol. It got interesting fast. finally found some cedars and under brush to tie off to and throw dusty the hobbles. I take 4 dogs back to the truck. 2 strike dogs and 2 bulldogs that got interesting thru the creek and canyon and up the other side. can't drive but much closer. Go get the last dog and drag the hog 200yds and finally get it loaded up and in the pen. Dang good hunt and Proud of Max not even being 2 and going 3/4 mile and stickin' with it with ely. Dogs stayed hooked and done good and I'm wore out ready for bed so I can get up for work in the mornin' didn't have much time for pics but did get one of the ol' sow. and I got to try out my new scales and I wish we woulda still been guessing lol I guessed 150 lb and dusty went with 163. we were a lil off lol.
