Hey guy's I always use a pit to catch hogs, the question I have for you is what bloodline do you guys prefer. The best I ever had was linebred Chinaman on top and Some other Eli and Jeep on bottom. Hard to find some blood like it down here but I'm always looking. He was a 40 to 45 lbs hard mouthed head buster who hit hard and was tough as they come, that said he was also laid back and pretty well mannered, I never had to worry about him around people or kids and he stayed in the yard with other dogs. I'd like to hear what you guys like.

Havnt been doing this a long time but have been through a few catch dogs.. We use a pit mastiff that was bred by a guy in temple out of just two proven catchers... She has been on a lot of pigs with us and is great hits like a train and a grip enough for two of her... The other we have isnt a highly bred dog either but shes as laid back as they come well mannered loves other dogs but hates a pig and also hits like a train. I totally believe in breeding but not really in these world famous dogs but in proven dogs in previous generations. Kind of off the topic as far as certain bloodlines but just my 2 cents which dont account for a whole lot.

Boyles/Bolio are naturally long winded, long legged dogs. Look up Bolio online and u will find pictures of some well built pits.

I have a couple of different lines that I like. Jeep/Redboy, Jeep/Redboy/Carver, Eli/Redboy/Alligator, Boyles/Chainaman, Redboy/Jocko/Eli.

Cope... ckc registered apbt vicegrip jaws. Not sure of his bloodline. Never looked at his papers or nothing. King. Gator and rednose mix. Best kid dog I've been around hates a bog but that's it. Absolutely no aggression towards anything else except people he don't know . I prefer bigger cds. Sportsman runs those lil gamebreds and they are good long winded clamp down jaws dogs too. If u don't have any luck check sportsman on here. He runs beaudreaux/clemmons blood

Coyote hunter, that Boudreaux and Clemmo stuff is Eli bred stuff. I know Floyd Boudreaux and have had does straight off of his yard. They can be pretty good dogs.

tmatt you beat me to that on them being Eli as well. I'm just a fan of the more gamebred smaller type pits I have done a bunch of research on game pits an bloodlines. There are a bunch of folks who breed these dogs just to sell pups which is where alot of that people aggression comes from they worry about the money and won't cull one that shows then it gets bred passing on these traits. The game pits are supposed to have plenty of stamina and no quit they aim to please and won't cur. I will not fight any dog but I guess you could call me a nerd on pits and their history. Jack Kroener has a line that I'm wanting to try all Hollingsworth bred has anyone ever tried or had one of these dogs. Guys you have some great looking dogs and would love to hear some more input. Blakebh, Tom Garner who has quiet a few litters on the ground that go back to that Chinaman/Alligator cross they are proud off them but if I had the money to spend I would jump on it quick.

I personally like the way the boudreux pits are built or at least the ones I've seen. I have only seen one catch and he caught really good. We had to use a break stike and it was only the second hog he'd seen . I really liked him.

^ should really be using cut gear with hogs like that I'm pretty sure he needed the cut gear when he dove on to catch a bear with no other dogs willing to commit.

Thanks josh I dont have many pics of him. You my Boy Blue R.I.P Brutus and Blue you are missed. I tried the cut gear for awhile but i didn't like he lost a lot of mobility and got cut less without it. If you have anymore I like to see them on here, and do you still have the video of green swamp you can access with Goofy, Shelby, and Blue i would die to have it. Keep em coming guys thanks

This is Baus. He is APBT, but I don't know a specific line. I got him from blakebh. Blake still has the mom on his yard, but the dad passed away. Mom was about 45lbs and gamey and dad was about 80lbs. Baus is about 75lbs, and calm when at home; but you put him in the woods and everything changes. He great on a lead, and pays attention to what the other dogs are doing. He has only been on 3 hogs, but one of em was a 300lb boar and once caught he hasn't let go on any. He'll follow in from about 100yrds, and is a great dog. He just needs more seasoning. He is 5 years old.
