Daniel talked to the guy last night and he said it was 100% payout on total weight, and I think they may have a "biggest boar" also.  20 bucks a man for a 2 team man. Either dogs, bows, or rifle, no traps. The hunt is Friday and Saturday and the weigh in is 10 am Sunday. I think that's all the info he got, if you need anymore I'm sure the # on Richards post can give it to you. I don't know if they are gonna have a list of rules or whatever. It's kind of thrown together, it's the first year they've done it. I hope they do well.

Yeah he told me the biggest boar is an optional pot and the entry for it is an additional 20.  They will allow four man teams for the doggers but the fee will still be 20 per head. There is no limit to the number of pigs entered and obviously they don't have to be brought in alive since there is gonna be rifle and bow hunters. They just put this together last minute and they want to make this an annual tournament and said the rues would be more structured after this one.  They are trying to get sponsors for it and I think the sponsors they talked to basically said that if their was a decent turnout this year they would sponsor it next year....so if any of you from the north east texas area want to have a more local annual tournament try and make it. They also said the pot would be bigger next year and would have two categories; doggers, and rifle/bow if this one does well enough and can get enough people to enter. I will be in contact with them later so if there is any updates I will add a post.

I think there will be a better turn out if they do the doggin separate from the rifle/bow this year. it shouldnt be that hard to separate the two, there is no point in a dogger goin and wasting fuel and entry fee money when someone can bait out a field and sit there with his buddy and their AR15 and mow down 15 hogs a day. Where is all the meat goin, is it just gonna be wasted. Does anyone know if they will have a live scale for if we bring the pigs in live and then we can do what we want to with them after that, it might be worth giving it a shot then, i love competition but i wont break my bank for it when there is no chance to win?

I agree, i love the hog doggin more than any other kind of huntin, but for a tourny it aint worth the money in fuel to not have a chance in winning. I can just as easy take the hogs to a buyer and support my habit. Hopefully the rest of the hog doggers agree and we can convince a change in the tourny. Its real easy. Just how there is a separate entry fee for those going for the Big Hog prize. Make a separate entry for Dogs/Knives, or at least give us the option to weight them in live and keep the hogs.

Hey guys I am the one holding the hunt for everyone to have a good time. I sent the message out about Harry's Wild Hog Roundup and there has been NO REPLYS I get to looking on this board and I find where someone has put a add about our hunt. Guy if you have a problem with my hunt let me know on my message that way I can try to come up with a solution to a problem.  We are making our hunt to where everyone can afford to hunt and have a great time. The hunt is $20 to enter 20 for big hog if you want in on that jackpot, you can hunt where you want hunt how you want just be at the weigh in at 10 am sharp not 10:01 10.  This is for all hunters that have put a comment on this page we are doing this to have fun I don't care how you hunt the hogs if it is with dogs, guns, we are just out here to have a good time. For the dog hunters who are worried about some redneck sitting on the back of the truck drinking beer shooting hogs with are full auto ar-15 knocking down a group of 15 hogs I don't know it your hunting tame hogs with your dogs are what but I know where I hunt it is more than sitting on the truck and mowing them down. I know that you get one shot for that hog and next shot if you get on it is running to the timber. Hey if you guys want to hunt our hunt we would love to have you at our hunt it will look better for our sponsors to see that we had a great turnout. If youwant to weigh you hogs live find me a scale to weigh them on I know I have spent alot of time and money to hold this hunt so you could have a great time.

Hey if any of you hunters can find a live scale let me know we want to put this hunt to where everyone can enjoy, and we are trying to break the hunt in to two groups dog hunters and gun hunters just dont know if we will have enough gun hunters to make it worth there wild. Just hunt this hunt this year if we cant break it up next year it will be just come and have a great time. We are working to get sponsors and with it being our first hunt they want to see how this year go's
