My understanding is and of course I am usally wrong..........is that a July Hound is just a line of Black and Tan or a hound born in July.........in either case I have hunted both and would never run a full blood hound again myself..........just my thought on full blood hounds.

Julys are a running hound.Kinda like Running Walker,Trigg,Goodman etc.I have a friend thats runs coyotes with them and likes them alot. Most have lots of speed and a run to catch type attitude. Not quite as mouthy as alot of hounds.I think a man got ahold of the right one, would make a good hog dog.And I for sure would try A JulyX of the right type. The Julys I have seen ,are some of the best put together dogs, I have seen in my life.

Yea they would prob make good hog dogs. They are much closer to a running walker than a black & tan coondog. We used to run them on coyotes when I was a kid. I am kinda lookin for one if somebody knows of somebody that has some?

I was up around antlers ok a few years back and a guy at a conv store had a box full of them. I asked him what they were and what he hunted and he said coyotes. He said he wasn't a breeder but when he had pups he would get a hundred a pup. Real pretty hounds.

I picked one up off the highway for an old timer out here years back. They would run a pack of them, sit around a fire and listen to the "music".

hey chancebrown what do think of troy thorn's aussie and bondie. those two dogs in my opinion are freak'n awsome, it seems like every time we go out those two dogs find pigs. there has been a few times we will be just a few minutes behind another set of hunters driving through a couple of places we hunt and the guys in front make a dry run while we get covered up in caught pigs. but just wondering what you thought of them because i believe troy said you guys have hunted together a time or two
