I just had a good feeling last night when we were loading up the truck and gettin ready to make a run! There's something about that cold weather, great friends and hard working dogs that could make even the slowest night a good hunt!! Jared (wine6978), our buddy T.J., Boggan (swinestoppers), Pete, his buddy Joe and myself all met up at the Ranch.  We dropped dogs once we got inside the ranch, (and after Boggan's dog ate most of his Jerky for snacking on  Grin)- The dogs were off and the race was ON!  We chased the dogs for a good while, trying to figure out the fastest way we could get the closest to them so we could get a good listen as to what was going on.  We heard a good bay about 700 yards away and hauled a$$ in the truck to get closer to them so we could drop catch dogs.  I guess we were going faster than the GPS could think and we went flying past the bay, which was about 10 feet to the right of the truck.  We stopped the truck, cut the catch dogs loose and the bay broke about 15 feet from the truck, and out shot one pig across the road with a trail of dogs behind him! We waited for the dogs to get the pigs stopped and the race was on! It was a little boar with some little bitty hell-acious sharp teeth on him!  We all crammed back into the truck, and COVERED SOME GROUND, SON! All the dogs rolled out on another pig and were gaining on us fast- about a mile and a half away from us.  When we finally got within 200 yards to the bay, we dropped the catch dogs and took off through some NAST-EE brush! He was close by, (somewhat) easy to get to, I legged him and Jared stabbed him.  Well, while were putting leads on catch dogs, we realized the other dogs had rolled out AGAIN!!  We crammed in the truck again, hauled buns to get close to the dogs, dropped catch dogs and the bay broke.  They shut that boar down about 300 yards (it seemed longer than that because were running through walls of brush and vines!!! I think half my head of hair is out there on that ranch tangled up in that mess! lol) The catch dogs caught him, we realized we were about 75 yards from the second pig! We ran in one heck of a circle!!  thanks yall for another good, good times, and good laughs.  Cant wait to do it again!

That ol' Loco dog fits right in! Its an honor to be able to give such a great dog not only a second chance in life but a PURPOSE! I love watching those dogs work and do what they love.

Now if only I wasn't loaded up with Finals right now so I could be out running around those woods with yall tonight...  Grin

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
