The Dogo cross pups aree doing great. They are six months old right now. Y'all will be seeing some pics of them in the field soon.

Fine looking pups Mr. Paul, I'm just curious, where did your line of dogs originate from? One day I hope to have some breedworthy dogs and I'm always wondering how those of you with good dogs started out so that I may follow suit one day.

Fine looking pups Mr. Paul, I'm just curious, where did your line of dogs originate from? One day I hope to have some breedworthy dogs and I'm always wondering how those of you with good dogs started out so that I may follow suit one day.
Most of the old dogs came from Louisiana. The trick i think is just being able to pick the best pup or pups in a litter that fit your style. You need to raise and train some whole litters to make sure you are getting the right pup in that litter to carry on and improve your line. I don't breed a dog unless they are very gifted in some or most areas. I breed cowdogs that alo make good hog dogs. They need to have a lot of style on cattle for me to keep them around. |

Lots of people around here have "cow dogs" but none that I have worked with have had handle or style so I haven't been too impressed. I have been looking for a female pup to start with that would be worth breeding for about a year and had one that was showing promise that got killed by a hog. I know a couple of good stud dogs that are outstanding that I could breed to if I find the right female. Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack your thread but thanks for the info.

I have two litters on the ground right now. More females than males, I might have one I could send you that would be out of some pretty good stock.
