Hog Dog Pup

I bought a BMC about a year ago now from a guy in Tampa, Fl. I drove 2 hours down there to pick the dog up and was informed that he didn't have the papers on the pup yet. I really liked the the puppy and the guy was very convincing that he would send me the papers. I believed him and to make a long story short after contacting him numerous times still no papers. I am happy with the dog but will not breed him now. Anybody planning on buying a BMC from someone in the Tampa Fl area let me know and I will let you know his name.

Papers get wet when you take em hunting, and the dog cant read em!!
Why would not having papers keep you from breeding the dog if it was worth breeding?

Did you buy the pup specifically to breed and sell reg pups? Or is your main use going to be a working dog hog/cow?
Regardless the feller should have followed through on his word. But would like to know your original intention of purchasing the pup.

Them dogs cant read no papers! x2 lack of papers dont make the dog sterile, just means you can not break even on the price of the dog by selling only a couple pups. i ran into the same thing from a guy just north ok city. after months, 7 to be exact after purchase, and after giving them to a friend in ok. i got the papers. the guy said the parents were reg, but when i got the pups papers, the reg number for the pups and parents were sequintial. he reg the parents and the entire litter at the same time. |

Hunt the son of a gun forget about the papers and trying to get rich off puppies. If he turns out do a little back yard breeding with him and GIVE the pup's to your buddys an ya'll hunt them. JMO on the matter.

i think you guys are missing the point . he bought a papered dog and didn't get the papers i would be pissed as well and would let people know about the dog peddler. but if the dog turned out good it wasn't a total loss . some people like to know the history on their dogs papers or not .

Well, 2 hours isnt too far of a drive to either go get the papers or to give an a$$ whoopin...  If your breeding dogs for papers and to make money, please start raising poodles instead of hunting dogs... The hunting world has enough papered trash going around as it is.. JMO |

The point is he was promised something when he made the deal, the other guy didnt uphold his end of the deal. Its the same as if someone sell you a dog says he will bay a hog and the dog dont do crap for you.

I don't blame you at all for being mad as heck about the papers. As far as it holding you back from breeding the dog, I don't think that most people care about papers when it comes to hunting dogs. The proof is in the pudding and the papers are only proof of the lineage.
