 A young lady that lived with us her senior year has decided to spend her Christmas break with us. She is 19 and full time enlisted here in the US. I'd like to buy her something she could use. Any ideas?

Those Kindle things are pretty popular with Joes.  You can kill a lot of time with one of those.
