I had this Dog on the classifieds a while back and no one was ever interested so I ended up keeping him. He's my number one strike dog now. I have already caught several hogs with him but he really made me proud the other day. We were running him with several other good dogs and all the other dogs went all around this hog and never smelled it. He got in there and let out a big hound dog howl (he's half plott)  and got him bayed before the other dogs arrived. It was about a 200# boar in great shape. We cut him and turned him loose and he hit the river but drowned halfway across cause the dogs messed up one of his legs so he's in the cooler now. He ranges out passed 500 yards all the time and does awesome especially when I'm hunting him alone. He has caught almost every hog he's bayed. He's pushing 100 pounds right now. Just 1 year old and he's passed up my others. Cant wait to see what he'll be doing in a couple years.

Yea, he has to ride in the front cause the back is so full of hogs that he catches.

My best dog now is a dog I had sold for 100$ as a pup and decided to hang on to him. I've had offers of $800, 1000$ & 2000$ for him and haven't thought twice about selling him  Cool

Well... only got one now. I brought the blue eyed one hunting a couple weeks ago and it did good. Found two hogs by it's self but acted like it wanted to be open. I was kinda 50/50 on it. Got home and it got ran over in front of my house. So I have one left. He seems like he wont be open. They're definitely long range dogs. The one I brought hunting was getting out 1000 yards by himself.

He must have known he was on the chopping block and decided he needed to step it up.  They got a 6th sense for that kinda stuff. I got an inconsistent dog and everytime he has a few crappy hunts and I think about selling him, he does something good in the woods to earn his place back in the pack.

Sorry to hear about the pup....I got 2 from him, 1 from the same litter and 1 out of the older litter, both are doin pretty good...... I farmed out the younger to a friend that hunts alot, i've got too many to hunt by myself this year and didn;t want to hold him back.....My pup sure is gritty (borderline catchy) and been going out 200-400yds........
