Most good dog food tells you how much to feed by the dogs weight on the bag I usually stick with that at first but every dog has different eating habits and different energy levels I usually tailor my feeding present to each dogs activities 1s that stay at the end of there chain running and moving around burn more so they get more food than the 1s that don't if that makes any sense

I never use a measuring cup. I use the half gallon stainless bowls and usually about 2/3 to 3/4 bowl will do for a 50 to a 65 pound dog. more or less depending on physical activity or temp. Colder temps equals more feed and warmer temps equals less feed...I also just keep an eye on the overall physical appearance and make adjustments as needed...
Sportsmix  24/20 is what I use on my dogs...

As a rule, dogs should be fed between 2% and 3% of body weight in quality feed each day.  If you want to get an idea how that converts to the volume of feed your using, measure some out and weigh it.  You can't really say you should feed X amount of cups or whatever because the amount will be different based on the kibble size.

So roughly a 65 pound dog = 1.6lb / daily.

I feed the sportsmix 24/20. Ginger (stays lean) gets 3 cups 2x a day. Grace (gets fat easy) gets 1 cup 2x a day. New dog Kc (tad bit overweight) gets 1cup 2x a day till she either loses weight or needs to be cut back some more.

Never heard that before but thanks. I'll try to measure it and see how close I've been.
