Took my two out with my buddies dogs and my plot bmc cat outsruck even our best. When I got him he had never seen a pig and has now found a few at just over a year. He is one of the two I have left(sold all others bc of my dads health problems) anyways he got a small puncture wound from a hog with maybe 1in teeth right where his hip and the front ofhis back leg meet. Just got him home and there is a bubble under the skin that is filling with blood. I have tried stopping and stapled it for the night. He isn't acting off and ate his food and is walking on it. But the blood worries me. I'm asking if there is a main artery there that I should be worried about or should I just expect to lance it and give him pennicillin? If it looks.worse in the morning I will take him to my vet as it is what he is owed. I know there is no definite answer but i would sleep better with some idea of what to expect. Thanks in advance

Hey man you have the femeral artery is rite where your talking about but if that artery had been severed he would have bleed out . The hip is a large muscle area so it will bleed alot not to worry, but as far as stapling close a puncture ,i wouldn't have , by closing it the blood can't leave . always leave a weep hole . Your dog should be fine .he may swell and be sore but okay

If it was a small puncture leave it open let it drain its self. If it hit the main vein he would have already bleed out. I would bust the staples open and put some baking soda on it it will help stop the trikle of blood.

One more thing Adam, get a bottle of Vetericyn. Its basically holy water. I once took cwards advice on a big nasty brisket slice in Reds chest and it healed great! Vetericyn 1 squirt every morning was what my vet said so when I combined the two, red healed a deeeeeep cut with almost no scar in 9 days.  Shocked

I will definitely go pick some up! Is it in any way similar to cut and heal? I have had good results with it but like the sound of a spray
