Your dogs will learn to ignore his barking...

First time I took my dogs hunting with a friend that had open dogs, it confused the heck out of mine. Before the end of the hunt, my dogs had stopped honoring his dogs barks.

When he drops his dog you pick yours up.  Let him run his trashy dog, he will get tired of not catching anything.

My buddy had a walker that was open and my dogs went to him 3 or 4times until he opened in front of them at nothing. From then on they never even picked up their ears to his bark. Imo if your dogs are broke they will learn that that dog will just get them in trouble and they will get as almost as fed up with his trail barking as you are.

X2 let the dog speak for itself. A good friend of mine doesn't like one of my dogs who will open a bit so we dont put him down when we're together. Still friends.

Why beat around the bush, just tell the ole man what his sorry dog is doing to yours. If he is reasonable he will understand if not find others to go with.

Who wants to go spend a day hunting only to let someone elses trashy dog hunt while you have yours in the box??  Im all for hunting yours then his but if the dogs sucks and is not gonna find a hog then he can either leave the dog at the house OR he can stay at the house  with the dog!!  If you are hunting your places and these guys are coming with you then you are the boss and should say something.

I like honesty. Just tell him he is allright but you think his dog sucks. Say it in your own words and be respectful. Let him know he can hunt his dog but you would like it if you knew when so you could leave your dogs at home. Be honest and respectful things should work out.

almost sounds like he has a cold nosed dog that opens on cold tracks and then cant figure them out...or maybe he is not broke at all and he is trashing on off game...

I would have the pld man put his dog up and only turn him loose to a good bay...

Dogs shold complimant one another, explain this to them, and the way you hunt, and do things.  Its your hunt if they cannot respect this, stop inviting them, thew will either get on your program, or next.
