Went for a quick run on Thursday evening. We had some clients that are guides and into hounds and cat and bear hunting in CO. Headed out with 3 experienced dogs and 2 pups. Within 15 minutes dogs were bayed. Dropped the catch dogs and game over. One of the pus as well as one of the catch dogs got put on injured reserve so they were not available for the run on saturday.

Loaded up Saturday short one catch dog and one pup. Had to rely on the unicorn and he did not let us down.

Dropped at the first spot and Jefe struck. He is a BMC out of Thoms lines tight bred to WB and Yellow Jacket. He is a hell of a dog, and yes, he has a pink nose. Bay broke, jefe took one line and the other dogs took another.  Jefe made a huge circle and crossed behind where we were parked and bayed. Shortly the other dogs joined in and we had a solid bay going. Dropped the unicorn and caught hog.

Went to the next spot and dogs took a line and bayed up, drove closed got within 75 yards and let unicorn go again. It was strange because he was not caught but when I snuck in he was on his back legs trying to find the hog. He kept trying to get into one brush pile and couldn't seem to find the hog. I could see the dogs bayed and could see the hogs but he couldn't find. After about a minute he turned into the right bush and latched  on, as we are gathering dogs we noticed jefe gone again. Crap!  3/4 miles away he is on a line again. We loaded up and head to him. After trying to get to him we finally hear him bayed. Dropped the dogs and could hear hogs everywhere, dogs got one stopped in the thickest crap on the ranch, small sow that the bay dogs caught. In all my blue pup did great and the unicorn didn't let us down!  Great hunt with some new folks that are now hooked!

This is Jefe, this dog has more bottom, drive, heart than any dog I know. No dog or human aggression...top dog in my opinion!!!

My buddies have some pups off him and another good BMC that are showing alot of promise.

There is always bunch of talk about the Dogo breed and they, in jest, got the name as the magical unicorns. Do a quick search on the board. Not derogatory just an in house, in fun, term.....

ah... OK. Figured it was just my inexperiance. LOL! I like those Dogos, but from what I've heard about them it is either hit or miss. They are either really good, or something you don't want to waist your time with... But after typing all that out, I guess that's with any hog dog... LOL! Good looking dog Jerry! Keep it up!

Dont know his bloodline. He comes from Chris Waldrum down here in south Texas. He is not a huge dog, about 100 lbs. his brother is a catching fool but is much bigger. This is his brother Duke. They are about 2.5 yrs old.
