Yeah charles your right my grandad was making around 220000 a year. He was doing 6 month and year contracts. I was trying to find something to do over there but my wife said "i dont think so" so that got shot down real quick. If your singal and like mobey go for it.
Im married n been that way for 8yrs i think. I will say this though. My wife dont mind me bein gone as long as the money is good n i wouldnt go if it werent good. It also wouldnt matter if she didnt want me to go, my answer to that would b. there the door, pack up n get out. She does miss me, but both her n i would rathr b completely debt free for a change instead of livin payck to payck. I dont have i guess much of a soul or heart since im not attached to much with my wife or son, but he dont care to spend time so i dont even worry bout him. I go on as if he aint even alive. With this economy, its all bout the benjimans for me rite now.

Global warming is sure to keep Air Conditioning and Refrigeration techs busy. Go to a local technical college. Pay is decent to good depending on experience and location. I'm not rich but pay my bills and I'm home every night.

Wow I hope your sun never sees that. I'm the only one in my family that works and we are blessed that my wife can stay home with the kids. We aren't rich (trust me I don't make much) but we don't miss a meal either. Can't take the money with ya so might as well be happy with your family.

i may not can take my money with me, but i will be happier with my wife when we can live with living payck to payck. my dont wanna have anything to do with me because i dont have my xbox hooked up and i would rather be outside messing with dogs or workin around the house. i wont never be rich, i wont never miss a meal unless its of my own choice but im not gonna struggle while helping feed the sorry a$$ out there that dont wanna get out n work for what they want, but would rather steal from the honest man/woman who did have to work for their stuff. either way, to each our own. you provide for yours and i will provide for mine by what ever means possible, even if that means staying gone for yrs on end.

I am not knocking you Charles and do see where your coming from! I guess there was a time in my life where I wanted nothing to do with my dad either. But now that I have a son and another on the way I cant hardly imagine being away from my family for more than a day. lol Even if that means living paycheck to paycheck. But to each their own!

I agree Blake. To each their own. I grew up without a dad so I'm determined to make sure my kids don't.

guys, I third you on that one! I have a wife and daughter, and ur right to each his own, but I couldn't bear not being around them for that long! I hope to one day have a son that I can enjoy passing on the passion I have for my dogs and the woods to. In the mean time, my daughter will soon be getting down. Charles, does he not care about hunting at all?

The Midland Odessa area is full of oilfield jobs, I have several friends who are just starting out in the oil field and there are companies begging for people out there. Also you my want to check into the DFE tech school in tyler ( drilling fluid engineer) starting pay is around 60 a year, I know of 6 people who have finished this school since december and 4 of them are starting work this month, some companies are doing 14 on 14 off, or 28 on 28 off.

I will agree that it is less stressfull to not live pay check to pay check but that may not be the answer to you problem. Wether you make 40K 400K there is no difference. There are bigger toys, more expensive resturants, better vacations, newer iphones, ect. You have to adress both sides of the equation.... income and out go to get wiggle room. More income is not always the only solution. Plus, as little as $100 a month and you can retire with some wealth (depending on you age). Thats a month of dog food or fuel for 2 hunts for most people on here.
Also, my dad use to force me to go places I didn't want to. He made me get up every Sat morning and work some where with him all thru high schoold especially if he knew I was partying or hunting the night before. I've aleady forgot about the fights..... but I do remember the time we spent together.

Ryan, the only intrest that boy has is video games or the disney channel. I was visitin with my dad several wks ago n had a dog with me. I ask him if he wanted to go n he said no, im watchin tv. His half sister on the other had went to lookin for her huntin boots. I didnt even half to ask her. Now as for the vacations n resteraunts n other things. Yep they r out there. I got dogs so the vacation is outa the question unless my wife stays hm, but what good does that do to take a family trip n only half the family goes? The eateries are out too bc i would rather cook my own food n then its made to my likings. I was raised only by my dad from the time i was 2 n wish i woulda spent more time with him when i was younger. I feel bad that i dont spend much time with him now n he has ask me to try n move closer to him, but i gotta look at jobs in that area, aint much there anymore. Some of yaw may think im a cold hearted or even heartless sob bc i dont care to have anything to with my son, but i was raised not to put time into any1 or thing that is an endless or waistfull cause. If my son doest want to spend time unless its an xbox, im not forcing him or goin outa the way either to make or bribe him to like or spend time with me. I grew up in a hm of hard knocks with limited feeling to pass around. I guess i had no business fathering a child, but chit happens.

And don't get me wrong, I do not want to seem how to tell you how to be a parent, as I am semi new to it... but do you not think that if you made him come with you on some of your hunts that he would see how much fun it really is??? Have you taken him with you before? Did he just not like it, or was he just mad at you for making him go? All I’m saying is do you not think later on down the road that you may regret not putting that good old country boy and father time in the woods together??? That's just my .02 and I deff don't want it to come across as getting up in your bizz... It is completely out of concern.

no worries ryan, ur not prying into my business. i would let you know if you or any1 was, but i also opened the door. i have takin him a couple times and all he did was complain that it was hot or when are we goin hm, i want to play xbox. i used to do some of it as a kid myself, but i was never made to go ride horses, harvest honey from the hives, ride bulls, hunt or fish. those were things i wanted to do. he has NO intrest in hunting and little in fishing. as i said in my last post, i grew in the house of hard knocks where hurt feeling didnt have a place. i dont know about latter in life if i would regret it, but i can honestly say as of rite now and for probably yrs to come, i wont regret not making him go hunting. im not gonna force it on him. i may not pay child support for his half sister, but i still call her my daughter and she calls me daddy charles and we spend more time together than my son and i do when it comes to hunting. the ex dont understand it. i have heard her in the back ground asking her mom to ask me when i was goin hutning next or when is the next bay pen event. i am though paying for half their trip to go the disney place in florida for the kids on spring break, that even includes half of the ex's and her husband trip too. its for the kids and by puttig money back in the adults pocket, that gives them more to spend on the kids.

I'll just flat say it. This may very possibly be the saddest post I've ever read. Are you a man? Take the Xbox away. Teach your son some responsibility. Spend quality time with your family. Give them a reason to love and respect you. Choosing to make a buck over family only works for the employer in the long run. Everyone else involved suffers long term. You've posted some "off the rocker" stuff on here, but that post just made me feel very sorry for you. I'll eat leftovers behind the local deli with my family on a nightly basis before I place the almighty dollar ahead of them. I will pray, and I mean pray hard for you and your family. I truly mean every word I just posted.

Im in no need of ur prayers cutterbay. The xbox is mine n it aint hooked up or not that i know of. When i was his age, i didnt put my dad ahead of anything. He stayed gone workin all the hrs he could n left me at hm to fend for myself while he put food on the table, close on my back n land for ur to live off of. I nvr held it against him for makin me a loner. My wife is lonely n my dogs too but she supports me bein gone to pay for her stuff along with mine. Some people were not ment for children and im 1 of them. Pls keep ur prayers for u n urs n others. Come judgement day, i will answer for doings. Im not a puppet, i dont need some1 to speak for me. Thanks for the offer though

No one said to do it for yourself. I was mainly talking about doing it for your son. You're right, not everyone is designed to have kids. However, those that have kids have an obligation to them to provide a loving, yet meaningful life. I'll pray for you anyway. It won't cost you a dime.

his mom does an exceptional job providing for him. im late on my support but she does not care since she knows that if she ask n them kids need it, they get it, even the girll that aint mine by blood. i took her in as my own from birth till her mom n i divorced n i have a closer bond with her even though she spends time with her real dad now, she will say (if kota dont wanna go, i wonna go. i wanna play with the hogs).

Oh, cutter. U said off the rocker posts. Whos to say whats off the rocker, normal society? Who judges whats normal n whats (off the rocker)? Normal society aint that normal to some. Normal society in my opinion are standard people who wear blinders n are unaware of their surroundings n what goin on in this world today. My post is sad. I fell sorry for the normal people for being ignorant of reality. We all live abnormal lives, its what we choose to do with our lives that set us all apart
