Killed this hog today at about 3:30.  We hunted one place this morning and found nothing.  Had to go work on the tractor so I could put out some hay.  Got it fixed up and the cows fed.  I did not want to go home skunked so we went to a different place.  Turned out there about 1:00 and only found some old sign.  The sign picked up on the other side of the place.  Paris and Newt bayed this hog.  He broke when another pup joined the bay and moved about 400 yards then bayed again.  I slipped in and made the shot.  I did not realize hog big he was untill Dad and I drug him out.  It was just about all we had to get it done.  On my Moultree game scale he weighed 410.  On a big scale used to weigh grain trucks he weighed 390.  The grain scale breaks on 10 lbs.  Was close to 400 anyway.  The biggest hog i've killed.  They dont get this big very often.  2 1/4 inches on one side.  Broke on the other.  He was very long which helped him weigh out good

The moultree scale

Grin you should.....cause you will start catching bigger hogs automatically. hehe

I've only seen one hog over 400 and this hog was not quite that big.  Actually the 390 suprised me a bit.  I was thinking more like 350 or under.  But the grain scale got my weight right.  I can only assume it was perty close on the hogs weight.
