I have a R-15 and I have no problems with with groups like that at 100 yards.  Its the only one AR I've owned so its the only one I can really give advice about though.

I do not understand the popularity that this rifle has achieved.  It looks cool and all I guess.  After carrying one for months without a choice, I will never own one personally.  Unless maybe I could afford to have one chambered in 7.62 instead of 5.56 MAYBE.  But for the money, I dont think you could do better than an AK.  Perhaps not as accurate as an M-16, but will get the job done for a lot less dough.

Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat.

Something you had to remind yourself everyday was that your rifle was designed built and distributed by the lowest bidder haha

If you get the right AR made by someone who knows what they're doing then there isn't an AK in the world that can shoot anywhere near as good.  AK is an awesome weapon but I'm talking accuracy.

And I prefer one in something heavier than a 5.56.  Just doesn't have enough power behind it.  Get a .308 or a 6.8.

ck rockriverarms.com or something like that. u may have to google rock river amrs. i dont think rock river offers the rifle in 7.62x51, but there are other companies out there that do offer it. i feel similar to texaslacy bout havin to carry a 16, but there aint nothin wrong with the weapon system in the proper hands. you can get a 5.56 weapon that will shoot sub min groupings inthe proper hands of the user. if your looking for good accuracy, make sure you stay at a 20in or better barrle with proper floating and optics. i had a soldier that was droping yotes anywhere from 200-500yds with a 5.56, but he had close to 2,000 in the weapon and of course had more than basic weapons training. do your research before buy. a weapon is like a dog, except its harder to eat the rifle, but make sure the manufacture is an above average company. there are to many companies out there making junk and selling for high quality.

IF u want to build your own I can give the break down on how.  If you look at my posts mine and my wifes is under mine and hers and let me tell you hers is a shooting sob. Well sub moa.  Mine shoots ok but hers is dead on.  Second go ahead and get you a nikon m223 scope they are dang nice I have a burris black diamond on mine and like hers better.  The good thing about building your own is you get exactly what you want if you are willing to spend the money.  If you want call me 2549772621

I have to agree with PBC on this one. If you are halfway mechanically inclined, build your own. It's not hard plus it's gratifying shooting a gun you built plus you can build it exactly how you want it. I built one 4 yrs ago and by shopping around I built it for about 600 bucks without the optics and too many other bells and whistles.  Might cost a little more to build one now, I don't know I haven't  looked lately.  Check out the website www.ar-15.com you'll get 10 million different opinions if you read there forums, but their site has about anything you could need AR related.

I have a dpms it shoots great and is all factory, except for the ammo. After playing with mine, it is super easy to manipulate and I plan on getting my next upper built from scratch.

You dont have to build much. Buy a lower from Rock River Arms with the stage two trigger. Buy an upper from AR Performance. Two pins and you are done.

If you must spend the money, take a look at an AR10A4.

And, trust me, you want 7.62 over 5.56.

There is one reason, and one reason only that I say this.  I have shot men with both, shot placement is key with the 5.56 and it can, and will get the job done.  An M-16A2 will suffice, but when I wanted to set them down without a doubt, the M240G would put some d!cks in the dirt, no problems.

And, you constantly see pigs and humans being closely compared to each other in terms of body composition, and flesh density.  Most often, pigs are used as a stand in for ballistics tests.

Idk for a few hundred more i would go with the ar10-a2b. 308 only bad thing is its around  $45 a box. If youve never shot one you could compare the round to a 30-06. The ballistics are dang close between 2. Just my 2 ¢

You have to be careful going to the AR10s and the other calibers. Make sure you read the reviews from people on the message boards. Alot of them have problems with jamming or getting magazines to feed right. Same thing with some of these brands of AR10s & AR15s. There are AR all over the place now and they are not all created equal. The $600-800 AR from Wal-Mart will not perform like the $1000+ RRA or ARPermance ARs.

Purebreedcolt is right. If you want real accuracy out of an AR you gotta build it yourself.  My suggesion would be a longer bll barrel rifled to shoot a heavier bullt.  The 55gr most companys load arent real real accurate.  And building one is simple, dont really need any special tools until your putting the barrel in.

A buddy has one he loves it! I have a dpms and I am pleased so far with it. I would however like a little more punch behind it but it'll still get the job done
