I prefer a small group but once and a while it's fun as long as it's not as many dogs on the ground as people.  I'm a firm believer in the fewer the better. (dogs that is)

not for me, more legs on the ground means bigger chance to get hurt dogs and people alike

I agree!  I personally like a small group, 4 to 5 at the most!  I also want them to b serious about the hunt to!  I've been to many times years ago, where you would have 8-10 people with that many 4-wheelers and some would keep up with you some would drag behind. Theres nothing that aggravated me more is when the dogs are on a hog and your trying to keep up with them and you stop to listen for the dogs and you have to wait 5 or 10 minutes for all the 4-wheelers to catch up to you and get them to cut it off and listen!  Just to much trouble.  Probably wouldn't be as bad now with the Garmin, but I still like my smaller group!  Just my way of hunting, not saying that's right, but the way I prefer.

I think that saying, "3's a crowd" fits good in this situation. It just seems like theres always the few people that think everything is funny and wont be quiet or the ones that fall way behind and everyone has to wait on em.

We almost always have over 10 when we hunt in GA. Just the way it is,....I trust all of them and we have a really fun time and kill a lot of hogs. Most of them are standers and don't hit the woods much.

I don't mind big groups as long as most people know the routine, stop when everyone else stops, no guns, general dog hunting knowledge.

We do have a few real big deer leases that will have upwards on 20 people out and about. We usually fix this by myself or someone else riding ahead and getting the dogs started on hogs and then we'll bring the Calvary in.

There are good and bad aspects to big groups. They can turn into cluster do its but those big groups sure do help dragging hogs out and catching em when there are lots of hogs.

We generally hunt more dogs than most people on the ground and more people on buggies and it works out for us but I can see where disasters are easily achievable.

I call them big group hunts a cluster Shocked

They are ok every now and then but it seems too much for me. I honestly like to go and it be 2 ppl. But doesn't bother me a bit to be 5 or 6

Tony you pretty much summed up my feelings on big groups. I dont mind them and most of the time they are a lot of fun but I have to get out on my own with my dogs every now and then.
All you need is a plan and someone to take a little charge and they usually go smooth.

Years ago I hunted on a ranch several times around Curtin Tx that always had a big group. They had family and neighbors to come out and watch us and help haul hogs out. We always caught big nymbers of hogs and never had to do a thing past catching and tieing. It was always a blast and the food spread at the noon meal was equal to the picnic spreads Ive seen at Easter and Independance day celibrations!

I dont mind a big group at all as long as everyone knows how it goin to work once we start a hog. And the most dogs we put down at at time is 4 max that includes pups

Used to think you only wanted one or two people there but I have learned you can catch hogs with ten there as long as everyone is having a good time everything else will work it self out just relax.
