Thought I'd try my hand at making some cut vests for my baypen dogs. For those of you who make your own where do you buy your cordura or kevlar? Thanks in advance!

i got mine from navy surplus, the have old vests that the straps and stuff are torn, just sew some seat belt material and your ready to go
ive ran leather and fire hose for my loose bay dogs that time to time got alil ruff

Just search Ballistic Nylon. its light and strong. I wsa thinking about the same. I foung everything i needed but never did it cause the sewing machines are so much$$$

Why couldn't you take seat belt material and overlap the strips and sew them together until you have a nice big piece of material then cut your pattern from that? It would be real light. I was playing around with a piece of seat belt (don't know what make vehicle it came out of)
and was poking it with a knife and it took a lot of effort to poke through it.

Unless your dang good and don't mind a lot of trial and error steer clear of of them. The ausie style of vests are easy enough to make though. Ill make collars leads hobbles but I won't try another vest they are a pain to get right. Jmo but buy your vest will be money well spent.
