Ok, I have this brindle dog that I bought a few months ago. I was going to trade him for a gyp because that's all I have but didn't have much luck with that. After hunting a few more times I think I am just going to have to keep him and deal with his male issues. He makes me like him more and more every time we hunt him. Anyways my question is: What breed/breeds do yall think he has in him? He is about a year and a half old and weighs about 75 pounds

looks like a genuine mutt to me. i got one that about 7 months old that i like more and more everyday. there is obviously no way to be sure unless u track down its breeding, good luck

No way to track down his breeding. I was just hoping some of the folks on here that have seen different dogs all their life could shed a little light for me cause I have no idea.

Looks like a catahoula, black mouth cur, plott, campbell cur, florida cur, mountain cur, and lacy mixed with a hint of mutt thrown in the mix for flavor.

Looks like mtn cur to me, but buy his legs and feet might have some BMC or cat in there too, but hard to say.

Not to sure what exactly he is but I've got a dog that I didnt know what he is. I googled dog dna tests and ordered one it was $65. Ive been waiting on the results and should have them back in about a week or two. The company is very reputable and has great reviews. So thats an option that you might want to look into if you want to see what he has in him.

Good looking dog. Resembles the kind of dog I hunt.  Looks like an old stock common bred cur dog from East Texas to me.  Just judging by the ear set, tail thickness, and the way his hind quarters are built.  Also the way he carries himself.  How does he hunt? and does he give a little mouth when a hog breaks?

The real question is where did you get him?

I've got a Julyhound\ Mnt. Cur cross looks just like your dog Monty, and Brian sorry TEXASHOGSANDDOGS can vouch that he looks just like my Spanky dog. Does he hunt nose down or up?

Came from deep south Texas in all the cactus and thorns. No tellin really where he came from. The guy got him from somebody else. Hunts nose up for the most part. He has a real loud deep bark. He runs with one of my gyps the whole time and one of them yips a few times when the hog breaks. Thats if he hasnt already caught it. Gets real catchy especially if there are several dogs there.
