Just picked up a spot where the hogs have a LOT of Russian or European blood in them. Am I correct in thinking these types of hogs are more likely to fight like h*ll and run like h*ll ?

I believe it has a lot to do with the hog its self. I have raised a litter of piglets in 100 acre pin and 3 were good boars at 3 years old. I learned a lot from watching them with the dogs. One would stand his ground and fight anything, one would run for 20 to 30 minutes then bay with almost no fight, and the last one would run for hours. These three boars were off a rank russian boar and sow they would stand their ground and fight a dog if it gets to close. The hogs had a lot of puppies trained on them and I could tell people which boar the dogs were on with in five minutes just by how the dogs were moving.

I will add this, but off topic alil. I caught a Russian sow and had her domino and have 9 pigs. 8 boars and 1 sow. I have the pigs in a horse trailer and have been watching them alot. Some of them boars are built bigger framed than the others and some of their ears built just like deer while others are a touch wider and longer. The ones with deer ears look extremely streamlined even at an early age. I guess the bigger framed hogs maybe throwbacks to a pineywoods rooter or something. Their is definitely small difference that I'd like to see and watch develop.

I saw some trail cam photos of hogs on this place and the boars are well built. Big front ends, a hump above the shoulder blades and a smaller rear end. Some of them had the little ears you mentioned. We caught a sow one time near this place and put her in the bay pen. She beat the crap outta everything we put in with her. Very fast and athletic.
