We have been doing mostly early morning / day hunts in the semi-cool weather we have been having.  We have not had a whole lot of luck in the open fields but the heads prove to be bountiful a day or so after the harvesters have come though.

The young dogs have been getting a whole lot of work, with Nitro in the lead  Grin and Chance seems to have suffered some sort of a set back due to a bite or leg  injury.  We found one of Levi's dogs about a mile from the house in the cane field doing his own hunting (he is a whopping 11 months old) so we had the pleasure of hunting him the next day....finders keepers (kinda) Wink and he is in tune for an 11 month ol'er...I think we caught 3 or 4 hogs with him that day, must love those genetics!!

Any how, here is a passle of pictures I have been hoarding and waiting to find time to edit.

Wow Wow Wow  The pictures are soooo good Ashley.  I really like the action shots .  I always pack a camera but never get good action shots, and usually pack a video but last week took it out of the back pack coz it was getting to heavy and then the dogs bayed up three god ones, we watched for 20 minutes and I got a few picks but not to good, really needed your talented self to be there.
Keep the pics coming

Thanks!  I typically do not get anything on a regular basis for action shots so I have to hoard them but I was walking down the ditch bank this particular time and my husband said 'wth are you going to do when he comes out of the ditch??'  Cheesy ummmm kick him?!

Lisa, I have a video camera that I swear I am going to take when we have help (hence another reason for hoarding pics lol its usually just the two of us and like you said it is impossible to do it all!) so I can demonstrate just how rediculously thick this mess is during this time of the year and why I am so thankful for the open fields right now.

nice pics as usual. what camera are you using? i have heard that the eagles would rather scavenge then hunt for food. i have seen them eating road kill more than i have seen them diving for fish.

I have a Canon Rebel T1i that I drag around, I used a 50mm lens because I thought I left my other one at home so they are distant photos.  Alot of people think they are purely hunters but they are VERY VERY opportunistic, this was a little pig that didn't make it over night and wasn't there 10 minutes before the Eagles showed up....then I wanted to just sit there and take pictures of them doing their thing, I forgot we were supposed to be hunting!

Cutter, thanks for the compliment.  They are the 'type' we /I am striving for, I like the lean mean athletic dogs opposed to some of the tanks and 'short stuffs' we have now.

I like the curly tails on the hogs, i haven't ever seen that around here. Do most of the hogs yall hunt carry that feature?  Nice pictures
