If they start showing up in urban areas wearing spike collars and raised in an environment that they were not bred to be in you're dam straight they will be viewed as pits.

The dogo will not be viewed by us as pits, but will he be viewed or stereotyped as a pit type by the general public? I think that was the intent of the original post. County ordinances all across the country started with banning pits, then moved on to mastiffs, then rotts, then dobermans, what will be next? Hell, a co-worker of mind had his home owners dropped because they found out he had a chow. It's all about perception. If a certain dog is perceived to be dangerous they will target the whole breed. People are Ignorant and paranoid .

I've seen lab mix mutts called pits on the news. Like it's been said people are ignorant and paranoid.

Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat.
