I dont know if im the only one whose noticed but deer hunters/turkey/duck never let you know where they hunt or let you go with them including me (except i dont care for a duck anymore or a turkey since i found hogs deer just dont do it either come to think of it,but i still go cause i can ). coon hunters are very selective. most wont take someone they don't know real well. I have yet to meet a hogger who didn't invite me to go. Maybe they just want another guy to trade dogs with or equipment.Maybe they just like to show off their pack I think there just mainly good folk. I met a guy a year or so ago while looking for spots to hunt. pulled up in his driveway unannounced. and in 15 min he asked if I wanted to go hunting with his crew sometime. when i got there to hunt he had me a spare four wheeler. I didnt have a cut vest for my dog because i just bought her the week before. he had one all ready for me. He,s let me use his bay pen. I used to pay to go to a high fence and hunt between 175 and 350 depending on the size of the hogs in there at the time. All i did was chase em into a corner and shoot em. I now think I could travel through most of the southern states hunting hogs with guys who i met on this site without paying a dime and huinting their ground using their fuel to and from the woods. If i offered to pay they would probably decline me.Might even get a free meal or two. I know theirs some loss class people who hunt pigs Ive met a couple. Some like killing more than the thrill of chase and getting a good pack going. I do know also that as far as hunting gos hog doggers are the toughest and the best best.

Some of the finest people on God's green earth. Most would give the shirt off their back if they knew it's help, and that'll never change, but people are becoming more reserved with who they associate with and hunt with because ofthe increasing amount of low class hog hunters who backdoor, steal, and lie to get a free hunt.

I'm not suggesting I would take advantage of them. I don't like to hunt with others i like going by myself where i dont have to worry about my dogs chasing a deer out of the country and ruining someones hunt. I'm just saying their that nice. I got my own spots and i found em all with good old leg work..... spending time asking permission.

Im not pointing a finger at you or suggesting anything. I was simply making a general observation about good people getting tired of being taking advantage of. It's about the same concept as to why it's hard for a person getting started to get a pup from a good line of dogs. People are getting protective over them more and more everyday. There's some fine people out there but there is alot more that are lazy and no account.

I agree. Hog hunters are great people. We have hunted with lots of people and taken lots of people hunting with us. Aside from catching hogs and working our pack, we have made lots of great friends just by hunting with them.

In my experience, hog Hunters are really good people or really shady people. It seems to be completely different here in Florida then it is in TX.

I think, past the obvious, that is what its about! Meeting new people, hunting new places with different dogs on different kinds of hogs. Just having a good time, and helping some people out on the way. Most people that I've met have been great so far, and looking forward to meeting many more.
