Definitely cull, especially if it is finding hogs consistently, I will even help you out and take it off your hands if you deliver to my zip code.   Evil

Get another catch dog, their easier to come by than a good bay dog. Or just get a RCD Pack.

I run vests on my bulldog so if it's getting worked over with a vest on, I sure don't want my find dog to latch on with no vest so he can get worked over.  I don't have that issue though, my dogs think they are bulldogs half the time, I just wish I had your problem.

BA....ive got the same problem u have....i guess thats why my catch do needs to  go on a diet!!!   my dogs have a screw loss and are nuts(like there owner) they tend to catch most of the time not needing a catch dog which is fine by me

the only reason i asked to see what everyone else thanks is cause it was the topic of a beerdrinking cussin and discussin session me and sum friends had!!!! Grin

Keep, they can't roll out if they are caught... i keep catch dogs to catch and bay dogs to bay. I got a cur that will hit an ear every time with the catch dog. I wish I could break him of it.

I guess it depends one what kind of pack of dogs you want to have.  Sounds like you like the real ruff gritty catch type when they find it.  So if thats the case the dog is not doing the job you are looking for so I would not cull it I would find somebody and trade it for the kind of dog you are looking for which sounds like a pack of Find it catch it Running type of dogs that can find their on hog.

Man, I wish my strike dogs would stand back and bark or roll ahead instead of catching with the cds. It sure would keep them from being on the injured list so much.

I don't think it hurts to have a dog that won't catch. I run three dogs and my best dog rolls on when I get there and the other two latch on and help the catch dog. And when the dogs all catch and their not close how ya Gunna kno where they are if you ain't gotta garmin or the pig ain't squealin? I don't think it hurts to have one but I'm just rambling lol

I like my dogs to catch, i dont like takinn a catch dog in the woods.. Not bad if huntin groves, but i hate havin to get through swamps with a dog on a lead.  That bein said i do like them to wait til i get there to catch, doesnt happen much though...
