I'm only 22 an been welding for goin on 6 years now its what i'll always do right now im running a lot of flux core an hard wire an wanted to talk to someone about welding some pipe i personally believe i can do it but never crawled on a peice an was wondering if someone could explain a few tricks to the trade to me so i can go outside an give them a try lol any help would be grateful

depends on what company u test for it will be what they call a bell and a branch the bell is just too pieces of pipe together like it will be in the ditch the branch is u saddle a pipe put the other on top of the saddle and weld it it is not a legal weld just to see if u can really weld the best thing too do is get on a line and those guys will help u a bunch and u can make 1300-1500 a week as a helper after taxes

everything on the fire line is down hill 6010 bead rod 5/16 8010 hot pass and 3/16 cap just grab u some pipe and go to practiceing hope it helped if i can answer any more questions give me a call i hate computers 817 229 4858

Im actually an xray technician i couldnt tell you much as far as the welding process but could sure help on my end

Have you thought about going to your local comunity college? If you are working during the day take some night classes.

You really need to get with  GOOD welder and be his helper for a little while. You have no clue what you will learn as a helper. Plus you will be able to make good money while you try to rig out. I would get everything I needed before I broke out on my own and you can do that as a helper.
