We took him into mr.masons wooded place and caught three hogs and if he would of been a little bigger he would have caught them himself he just couldn't keep up but he found them by himself and tried to catch them but got out ran, but after my buddies pit locked on he was right behind her

I wouldn't be letting a 4 month old be catching anything of any size.

Well then again your not me. And it's not hurting him any to let him start learning, he doesn't have his adult teeth yet and he weighs about 15 pounds more then the pig does. And I'm there the whole time so I know he won't get hurt. I love how y'all comment not knowing anything of the situation

so how much does your 4 month old pit weigh? u said if he would have been bigger he could have held the hog by himself. thats what i replied to. u get on here asking questions about training and starting dogs then u get offended when someone gives an opinion or information. sounds to me like u know it all and got it all figured out

No I've got some bat dog pups that I need to work on. Muffin weighs probably around 30 pounds if u look in my history that's him, he I huge for being so young. I didn't mean to sound as if I know it all because I don't I have started pits before and I don't believe that he is full blood pit he looks as if he is ab or mastiff mix. I have a video of him I just can't post it, then u could see just how big he is compared to the hogs in the 8 acre pen

Doc, I liked Muffin, he's a nice looking dog and love the size.  Shows a lot of interest and as long as you control the training he'll work out for you.  Enjoyed the visit.

I had a pup as well that i started at 3 months. I would leg and flip the hog and let em grab on. Then later on he would start doing it solo but i worked him good til about 5 months when he lost his baby teeth on a hog then just recenlty started him back at 7-8 months just to be on the safe side
