My wife knows better than to tell me to get rid of my dogs. I told my wife in the beginning the dogs were here before her and will be here after she leaves.

the dog doesn't even look at a goat until it knocks the crap out of him when he s minding his own business. he don't run cows or anything i tell him no about. I did that with a e collar. Wife is very immature I guess if she is still at her parents tonight i will have to get rid of the dogs for a while. I love my wife and shes a good woman for the most part but if i could do it over i sure would marry for compatibility and friendship a lot more than star eyed love.

Girlfriends are usually more understanding.....even of wives! yep...and getting married can ruin a good relationship. all kidding aside sense you have children you need to do your part in making it work...compromise and build a nice kennel for your dog so that the goat will be safe...then you can turn the dog loose for excercise when under supervision...need to start breaking your hog dog off of livestock anyways...

I somehow haven't had that problem but if your dog is fine until the goat hits him. Let your catch dog run loose for a while. It will end the hitting stuff lol. But seriously it doesn't sound tome that the dog is your problem. I'd hafta tell her it's either me or the goat!

just sounds to me like you need to fix pens or kennels to properly confine your dogs and YOUR WIFE needs to fix a proper area to safely confine HER goat.
it works BOTH ways...
hope it works out for you.
marriage and children are not worth loosing over a dog or a goat.

I agree that its not worth losing your kids and wife over, but what kind of true loving wife would just up and leave over your jadg defending his self from a dang goat when the dog was there first? I would stand my ground with my dog and I would go get my kids or I would be in jail.

I see it like this(went through all this with my X) If she will leave over that she is not happy and was looking for an excuse to leave anyhow. Yea its not worth losing your wife and kids over but you will never lose your kids. They might not live with you but you will get them some. I tried to make everything work with my x just for my boy but now i have been remarried he seems to be so much happier and loves his stepmom more than his own mother. NO JOKE. Just my input. You do what your heart tells you not what everyone else because in the end when all said and done its you living that life. Good luck.

x2...is she wanting an excuse or is she just being selfish? There should be a compromise because we only live once and we should take each other into consideration...The goat and the dog is a mole hill and not a mountain...

When it comes down to whats really important in life... I think that hunting dogs and goats are way below family on the list. I would never leave my husband over a stupid goat or even a herd of goats and I hope that he would never leave me over a dog or even the whole pack. Just something to think about. I hope it all works out for yall.

JMO, but any person that would choose hunting or dogs over their family probably should try to straighten out their priorities. We are all here because we share a love for hunting, but no man should allow anything to come between his family. As husbands and fathers we have a moral and spiritual obligation that should be fulfilled. I am not going criticize anyone for the choices they have made, but we know what fills right in our heart.
