Hey I got goats and dogs and my husband knows it going to be hell if the dog gets my goats and breaking them is hard let me tell you but I think that if I had a incident. Where a dog got after my goat I would be mad but its in there nature to hunt things and goats make good targets I guess LOL as long as the goat is fine she may come around I would I think everyone. Needs a hobby to relieve. Stress and get away for a while good luck and I hope everything gets better I agree let the smoke clear  Wink

I am glad things worked out. My wife kept complaining about the dogs. Now she never threatened to leave me over the dogs but would not give me a chance to breath. I went and loaded a pistol. She asked what I was doing. I told her that I loved her way more than the dogs and I was going to shoot every one of my dogs just to make her happy. She would not let me shoot the dogs. Now she still gives me a hard time but tells me to do something to fix the problem.

I am about to change how my kennels are set up so a dog will not get wet when it rains and whine all night. Because my wife is not happy about the dog whining. Now I was planning on fixing the leak in the dog house anyway but now she thinks I am doing it to make her happy Grin Life is good when I work to make her happy.

I think that it is important to make your wife feel like she is the most important thing in the world to you. Then she will put up with what makes you happy. Plus like T-Bob said be decisive and have a back bone. She may get bent a bit but she will respect you as long as you do it with her in mind. I will not tell my wife to make me a sandwich for me when she is mad (don't know what she would out in it). But I let her say what she has to say, I let her know she was heard, and then I do what I am going to do while she fusses at me Grin

Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat.

I tried to sell the dogs. I kept getting stood up and driving to meet people that never showed up I took her with me to tex to hunt and we didn't find any pigs.  I've been like five or six times and always get at least a couple. She got rid of the goat on her own. I told her to keep it. I think while hunting she may have realized how good a dog that little sucker is. the other dogs were under foot most the time. He was out 600 700 yards and never stopped hunting and she commented on it a couple times. I casually told her he is the heart of my pack and was quite and let it sink in. when we got home she sold the goat. I've been saying yes ma'am and no ma'am and all is well.

You will never change a woman's mind. But you can put stuff out for her and let her change her own mind. I am glad she decided to keep your dog and get rid of the goat.

Do whatever you have to to get the kids back home!  Wife's either leave or stay, but I would do everything in my power to keep her if thats what I had to do to keep the kids!   Take the dog to one of your buddies, if they are worth calling buddies, they will keep him for you until things work out one way are another.
