Well, Joe, Blake and myself loaded up and went out and met up with Jimmy Creed. We dropped the dogs and within 10 mins and 100 or so yards from the truck Zig had a boar hog bayed up under a cedar tree and sent Jane in to catch, sealed the deal, and Fred and Soka went and caught the sow that was with the boar. So 2 down within 15 mins of being there, and had them tied up and on to the next. We were about to call it a day when Fred and Zig both started acting piggy, so we cut em loose. We let the dogs do some running around, and decided to start rounding em up... Well, we get Zig to the truck and the rest of the dogs are out about .9. Fred, Soka, and Pistol found and bayed a group of em of about 12 shoats and a 100+ size sow, and a 200ish boar. We ended up catching two of the shoats, and got ahold of Pistol so we took her back to the truck. Fred and Soka were hunting their butts off! Jeffrey met us back at the truck with some fuel (food) and fresh legs... He wanted to join in so I let him wear my boots because he showed up in tennyshoes... LOL so I stayed with the dogs and Jimmy at the truck. Joe, Blake, and Jeffrey took off to Fred and sent Jane in to seal the deal. They ended up getting another decent size spotted boar. Turned out to be a long hunt, and ended up getting 5 all day. 2 good boars about +-200, a +-200lbs sow, and 2 shoats.  Good hunt and great times with good friends!

This is the first boar (can was closest thing we had)  Grin

Thanks Cutter! Feels good to just be in the woods with my buddies and dogs again. Yeah Jimmy, it sure would be nice to get a horse... But for now, these hooves of mine are just gona have to take the walking... You need to bring that horse of yours anyways so we can haul those live hogs out of the woods to the trailer next time. Good hunt and we appreciate you having us out.

Kelton, I almost didn't notice who you were... I told Blake, Jeffrey, and Joe to be ready in March. We have another person down near you that might want to make the drive and meet up with us if you didn't mind... his handle on here i redneckrob. Been trying to get a hunt together with him as well. He is in Ellis County, and a little closer to you, but not much! If they aren't down then I'll be packing up with the wifey and heading your way.

catching hogs is always worth the long walks but a wheeler makes it so much nicer.

This week? I'll talk with blake and see if wants to drop somewhere... We have been working on some new spots lately cause a lot of ours seem to not be producing like normal. So what day you thinking? IDK what the other guys have going on and if they can hunt during the week at night or not, but I'd be down... Shoot me a text or call after 5 today and we'll talk more about it Brian. 903-268-3470

I really don't mind the long walks, its a good workout, and being in the woods is just about as good as it gets other than the obvious... LOL! The 4wheeler would just be good after those long hunts to go track down the dogs and/or drag the hogs we catch out being tired as all get out after the hunt. Not fun to walk 10-12 miles and then have to drag pork out... LOL!
