I've used super glue to close up wounds on myself a few times and it worked great. Burns like hell but did the job when I was in a bind. Has anyone ever used super glue to close up wounds on a dog? Seems like it would work if it worked on me.

Should it be used as a last result or can it be over staples?

I keep a tube in my jacket pocket at all times when I'm hog hunting. It works wonders on nicked ears that want to bleed so profusely. Just be sure that you have help holding the dog if it doesn't like being doctored on so as not to get it in their eyes or mouth. Smear some on the cut or nick and mash some tissue or TP on it and hold for a few seconds...then peel away the excess...makes a heck of a blood stopper. Good stuff.

I've used it on myself for years. Never noticed it burning though...
I wouldn't put it on a puncture wound or a cut unless its for sure clean first on the dogs. I have put it on my dirty cut hands and had it get infected underneath the glue, and it was a doubleheaded sumbitch to get the glue off to open it back up and clean out.
Otherwise, it is amazing for sealing up clean cuts.

It depends on what part of your body you use it on. When I used it on my hands it is not bad, when I used it on my face it burns. More nerves in you face than your hands.

I used some on my ear yesterday (the hard part by the ear hole), I can't remember a burn. Maybe I just have put it on stuff that was already hurting and just didn't notice the sting through the other pain *shrugs
I would still make sure I was putting it on a clean wound though, especially on one of my hunting partners. I cannot stay home and monitor the wound throughtout the day and I wouldn't want to cause an infection by sealing the dirt and germs and stuff in.
