i was thinking of a HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON, never had one but they look well built and could take some abuse,, I like the singel shot easy simple, one shot one kill
h&r 357 would work good and you dont have to worry about it passing through and hitting a dog like on the other rounds

I would say go for more than a single shot, what if you got two pigs runnin by? I just bought a Rossi 44mag lever action 16" barrel, 8+1. Plenty of power, light (about 5lbs), and easily good out to 100 yards. Can really do some damage with the hornady lever evolution ammo. Anthony

x2 Yeah I`ve shot a marlin 44 mag with the leverloution rounds and it`ll kill anything you aim it at under about 200 yards..my cousin actually killed a spike with it last year at 320 yards.that`s probably not your ideal range for that gun though. I think it`s best as a brush-close range gun..jmo

I have a H&R .444 its a single shot with interchangable barrels I haven't had anything take another step even with a bad shot. It also has more range then a .44. The only bad part is ammo is a little hard to come by.

id go with a leveraction to but id go with the 357 cal it will knock a hog dog....and the other reason i like the 357 is for the fact if i get in a bind and have to buy shells on the road u can run 38specials through it and trust me they will knock a hog down to

I carry a 30 carbine with a laser sight on it for night time and really never had any problems with it I like it because it is short and light and can take a beating

If you are wanting a single shot then I would recoment a CVA scout. they are lighter, more accurate, cheaper than an H&R. You can get them for a lil over $200 in a stainless gun with a fluted barrel.
