My fiance and I are moving to the area. She got a job with the Lyondel plant in Matagorda. We move in the middle of May and are looking for rental properties in the area that won't mind 10 hog dogs living in kennels. This is harder than I thought it would be. So I am turning to the hog hunters of the area. We need a rent place for a year, we are willing to go up to 1200 a month for the right place. I know it is early, but we can put a deposit down now to hold the right place. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

My buddy has a nice rent house out in the country by Sweeny that's available now. Its on 8 acres but he runs a few cows on it. I think its around 2500 sq ft. Let me see if he minds the dogs and how much it rents for.

Just spoke with him and his has been rented as of last week. He is going to ask one of his ranchin buddies about another house he knows of but he thinks the dogs will be a problem. I will keep my eyes open for any others around me.

that plant is out in the country and it should be easy enough to find something out in that direction...lots of hogs that way... Smiley

You would think so. But being as we live in Kingsville right now it is hard to get up there during the week and talk to people. We didn't find much this past weekend. But if you have any leads I would love for the help!!!

I live right down the road so I will keep my eye open. I have caught several hogs at that plant. We have permission to hunt a lot of the land right around it. Are you looking for a place to keep your dogs or are you looking for a place to move and keep your dogs?

I don't know the name to the store in Wadsworth...but that would be a good place to start...lots of locals go there. you can call there and they might know of a place or they might put a flyer up for you on their board.

There are two little stores there. One of them is J&J grocery. Don't know the name of the other one

Reuben, Chads, Katchum I look forward to meeting all of ya'll. I will be starting all over in regards to hog hunting. I happen to be from Katy so I know people that farm in East Bernard, El Campo, and of course Katy. Hopefully we can get together and tell some lies!!!

That's good to know. I figured there would be some pigs in the area, but I reckon its a lot of small tracts of land.
