If it goes well they will keep flushing and using IV antibiotics until it is gone. 3 to 5 days. It has to be pretty quick, I have Randy Bumpers in a week and a half. |

Do not let them sew it up. It only makes the infection worse or at least it did mine.

I will save the smack talk for you when you get out. When I was single I did ask for the best looking nurses  That sucks the doctors didn't start you on some serious stuff. They should know pigs are nasty. Now just tell the doctor you need the sweet honey nurses to look after you. But you will have a scar with a story. |

Maybe sewing it up wasn't a good idea. If you would have left it open then you could have sprayed Vetricyn on it twice a day and it would have healed from the inside out... I'm sure the same principals apply that work well for the healing cut dogs... Except... Use something stronger than Vetricyn! Lol.

Good morning everyone, just made a loop around the 4th floor holding my IV tower, bayed me up a couple of purty nurses and tried to get them come change my sheet!  OK, the clear all the hog stuff up,,, I was training puppies over at Denny's Bay Pen close to Sweeny. We were finished and the hog was still in the bay pen and we needed to put him in the holding pen. this hog might weigh 140#'s, boar, didn't see any teeth hanging out! He made a run at me well I put the shield(2ft x 4ft plywood) in front of me, well it was muddy so when he hit the board at the rate of speed he was going, it knocked the board out of my hands. He didn't waist any time with the cutting,,I didn't have any dogs or any thing in the pen with me, so I tackled the daddy didn't marry mommy after he cut me and put him in the other pen. By that time Mr. and Mrs Darn and the whole Darn family was in the pen yelling YOUR CUT BAD!!!!!! Well to the horsepital we go. So no big hog and no big teeth!!!!!!! Kinda glad! |

Damn man that's a bad deal. Pretty good odds though, I'll take a cut in 1 out of 25,000 hogs. Good thing is you got a butt load more hogs to catch before your next cut let me know what bacteria is cultured out of the cut. I'm in a Medical Microbiology class at Sam and woul like to know for future reference! Good luck getting it ready for Bumpers!! |

Lol I wasn't being smart, knew it was just an estimate! That really is a good ratio to be hunting so long and that be your first bad accident.. It's inevitable that something is going to eventually happen when you consistently catch hogs like you have over your life time. Hope it heals up Rick |
