Ted Poe could never get elected. He is to honest and has to many morals. Tom Coburn from my state is the same way. I've been a fan of both for a while and pray theu stick around a lot longer
God Bless, Waylon.

DJ,
I grew up in Baytown (Harris County) and I remember Ted Poe giving out odd sentences. Making guys that didn't pay child support go out on the street and hold up signs that are dead beat Dads. He dids alot of stuff like that. JT

X100. to many horses out there with road blinders on or a bunch of sheep. i admit i like my comfort of tv and internet, cell phones and so on. we fight and b!tch about dog pedlers and dog laws but cant get any1 to step up and hammer down on our money bought politicians on rising fuel costs, illegal search and seizers, unconstitutional imprisonment of americans for indefinent for supposed domestic terrorism. its not terrorism, its people are getting fed up with the crooked feds. its time to put our foot down and stop our government from ruining what it took many men and womens blood, sweat and tears to build. our ancectors came across the pond and built our country, making thrive and flurish and now we just give handouts to any immigrant, legal or illegal but if your an american citizen and now the minority, you dont get crap but a screwing.

Charles throughout history people always wanted to act when things went badly, seldom did they until some one else " Fired the first shot " I'm not talking about actually shooting, but people want to act but it's in most peoples nature to wait until some one else test the water. Maybe your that some one

i think i did with the tx comptroller 2 days ago. i got a letter in the mail sayin i owed 169 for taxes not filed in the last 1/4 of last yr. i called them, ask where did the amount came from and he said they just made a number up, taxed it, charged a late fee and then the letter said it was due on the 16th, they mailed the leter out on the 19th and said intrest would acrrue on the 20th, the day i got the letter. he said if i didnt pay, they would seize all my asests, ie: bank acct, hm and land, dogs and so on. i told him they better have a good supply of body bags and then hung the phone up. i get a call from the tx comptroller state trooper asking why i said what i said. i explained what went on, he said he would look into it and said they better have a good supply of body bags. its ok for local, state and federal government to threatn its citizens, but dare not the citizens to threatn back. whats wrong with our government?

Under this theory of who is allowed to vote, would people who work for a company that received government aid be allowed? How about government employees? Social Security recipients? What about those who receive tax abatements or even tax breaks, which are essentially government aid?

im sure as far as government aid, he is probably talking hardcore unemployment receipients. those that choose not work, draw unemployment, think they are owed something from the government. some government aid in small doses is ok, but abuse of the aid bc ur a lasy sack of potatoes, UHHHH, wrong answer. RL to add to your government aid examples, how about veterans disability, GI BILL for soldiers, who for most earned it, government workers retirement. here are more examples of government aid that in the wrong accpect and text, be considered baned from voting, but again im sure he was refering to welfare and abused unemployment receipients.

I understood his intent. My amplification was to show that just because a thought is simplistic does not make it simple. You have to think about where you draw the lines. For instance, if someone has worked for a company for 30 years, gets laid off, receives unemployment benefits, would they then lose the right to vote? Or if a company receives government assistance (think banks, wall street, autos) would those employees lose the right to vote? In reality, they are employed because of gov't assistance. Would farmers get to vote because they accept gov't subsidies?

I can agree with a few from this board about something needing to be done about what's wrong... But then I ask what exactly are WE going to do about it... "firing the first shot" needs to be done by more than one person. Everyone that cares about this country is concerned about where it is headed, but even trying vote in who WE want as a rep or prez still doesn't work because of crooked people already involved in government. It's like the post, and I can't remember who made it, but they basically strong armed the Ron Paul supporters in a meeting. That happens everywhere... If anything is going to be done it will have to be organized, and very well organized at that. Until people are willing to fight this battle together for the greater good instead of it being for selfish reasons it will continue to go down hill. Americans are the ones who voted these "politicians" into office, and the only way to fix that is to vote them out. JMO

RL, i know what you are saying and you are 100% correct. the line needs to be drawn on what and who considers the rights of votes to be banned.
Ryan, you to are correct, but untill the yellow bellies wake and smell the coffee, its gonna be hard. i dont mind taking the first shot, but i would need more to back my shot/s. its gonna end in bloodshed eventually, but at what cost and when do we say enough is enough. there are new laws out that can imprison people (me for example) for their comments in an undisclosed prison and location for life with the rights of due proccess and our constitutional rights. there are very few who actually care about this country, they would rather just abuse and exploit it for their own personal gain. americans didnt vote these jackwaggons in office. money bought their seat in congress, the senate and the whitehouse. we cant just vote them bc our votes wont be counted. its gonna take americans reading and following the constitution and decleration of independence to get our country on the right track again. i keep a copy of both, and have a lot of key phases and paragraphs memorized. i ask 5 people 1 day who walked past both the decleration and constitution in a hallway if they even noticed them being on the wall, and if they knew what each document says and means. all 5 said NOPE, never noticed them and have no idea what they say. i know thats not a fare number of people to ask to be considered an actual poll, but it shows that those historic document have been forgotten by a lot of americans and especially by our government.
