I wonder how many on this site:
A. Walk hunt
B. Use 4 wheelers and atv's
C. Hunt our of their trucks with hood dogs
D. Hunt off of horse or mule
E. Anything else that I missed.....is there anything else?
We use a ranger and 4 wheelers.

We road the dogs out of the trucks... and walk hunt em' if its too wet or if we wanna hunt somewhere we can't drive!
I'm anxious to see the replies to this post because I'm curious to see how people hunt where we are moving (Brazoria county)!!

For bear, we walk the dogs "on lead" til we find a track or dogs strike, then we still have to find the track to make sure we turn loose the right direction.
For hogs, all of the above, except hood, havnt tried that yet.

Seems like where you hunt makes a huge difference on how you hunt.
I would love to hunt on our horses but there are too many fences and hazards where we hunt.
A lot of where we go is on some old logging trails where a truck wouldn't make it through,
and as far as walking.... now Im not lazy or anything but there is no way in heck that I would want to try and keep up with the dogs when they are on a runner. There have been times when it took most of the night to get the dogs back using the four wheelers.

All the above but horses. If I'm walking it better because I'm hunting a big wooded area and not much wind or lots of wind one. Try not to have to when it is wet but it happens.

Our old dogs wind from the truck, the young dogs will run out in front until they wind something or hit a track but we are working on them learning to ride and wind....we cover much more ground without wearing them completely out.
My husband can put them in a head or accross a ditch for them to hunt and we also sight hunt them sometimes.
Our dogs go too far and tend to be too rough (especially if they have another dog out) to walk hunt them.
We do use the Ranger on some places but 99.9% of our hunting is from a truck.
