With all the rain we've had, combined with the warm temps, the mosquitoes are unbearable.  Just can't put enough spray on to stop them.

I trap in a watershed.  It has been flooded much of the recent past.  Was out there yesterday and there was a large and loud cloud of mosquitoes that followed me.  Shame on you if you stopped.  I decided not to set the traps as I don't want to deal with a hog while defending myself from literally thousands of mosquitoes.

yeah they are bad . you ain;t got enough garlic in your diet . start taking the garlic pills and you won;t be bothered by the skeeters near as much . it;s been proven to work standing side by side with my buddy that hates garlic . so i turned him on to the pills made a big differance in his life . our hog trap and feeder was in a bad spot like you talking about .

Long pants, long sleeves and so on. Dress like it is winter just no layers but not the thin sruff they can bite through. Then put the spary on around anything exposed.

We all got spoiled to no mosquitos with last years drought.  Cheesy  That was the ONLY good thing that came out of having a drought. I would much rather put up with mosquitos..... as long as I have some deep woods off or something with a good amount of deet in it.

Think I will try that, eating more garlic though. Ive heard that several times now.

Just get yourself a Thermo-cell RL......no more skeets. They really do work wonders.

I've never used one.  Does it work while you are moving or only when standing still?  Is it some type of aerosol or deet?

They don't ever bother me same as ticks and other bugs..... Only ones that ever seem attracted to me are the wasp. I'll swap gladly swap ya a few wasp stings for mosquito bites.

Set the Therma cell down by the trap and walk away for five or ten minutes and the Mosquitos should be cleared out. I found some stuff at Walmart called repel that has 98% deet in the pump bottle and 40% in the spray off only has 30%. I hunted today and didn't get bit even sprayed some on the dogs and around the dog box.

It's device that heats a small pad that has repellant on it and keeps the skeets at bay......here's a link......check it out. Works good for me and I live in Alabama. http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/search.cmd?N=0&Ntk=AllProducts&Ntt=thermacell&WT.srch=1&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=bing|cam_Survival+Navigation_Insect+Repellent+Control|USA&WT.z_mc_id1=eiN7e1TJh&rid=20&pcrid=394933708&sadid=44000000018571487

So they must not be heat activated or have some sort of energy source that heats them.  I appreciate all of the advice.  Thanks.

Half breed I eat so much garlic that you would think that I am mentored by a vampire slayer, however I am still the choice take of any mosquito anywhere, we can be in the grass at home, at the lake river or wherever and if there is a mosquito 98% of the time they are dining or trying to dine on me.

Interesting fact about mosquitos are the ones that get blood are females they need the protiens to make the eggs, male mosquitos feed on nectar
