Didnt want to high Jack the La thread but noticed several was around leesville ft Polk area. The reason I ask is, my dad was stationed at ft Polk when I was younger and ive been tryin to track down an old grade school buddy. This would have been around 86-87 im thinkin it was Pickering elementary or Jr high. Its been along time and my memory ain't all that good anymore. LOL
His name is Elbert Hardin, short feller, big cow lick. The only teachers I remember was a coach Forsyth. Tall guy carried a golf club all the time, along with a paddle. Mrs. McDonald who every body thought was pretty hot. Mr. Spikes big tall science teacher who probly taught me more than all others combined. And also had a mean lookin paddle. And none of them were afraid to use them back then either. Wink
Just thought I'd throw that out there, might have went to school with some of ya'll.

Yeah my dad was knows them I'm sure, I remember the names from some stories.  I'll run it by him and see what he has to say and get back to you.  He's 48 and graduated from Pickering.

Im pretty sure it was Pickering, but not 100% I remember the gym was separate from the main building. I also went to Vernon elementary. Still remember eating black eyed peas and gumbo for dinner. I also attended leesville Jr high one year.

You're asking for a needle in a haystack on a Texas website. I graduated with 40 something people and that was a huge graduating class Grin
