Mike and my daughter and I made a trip out to Cistern this morning to clean out a high fence property. We just let out our two oldest dogs on this property because of exotics in the ranch (hunter and Boo). Within minutes Boo had a bay going on a sow. The property owners son got to stick his first hog and peewee got to catch one after his vacation. We were off to a good start. After a short while later hunter struck another sow and the ranch owners son got his second one stuck. We figured we could spend all day in the highfence with the older dogs or run some pups on the big place so we called it a day there. We had held our pups back on this place so we had some fresh dogs at the big place in flatonia. We hunted around a while and the dogs wound up with two and a quarter hogs, two good sows and a cute lil boar. Mike's pup from J.P. (copper) brought the lil boar over swimming the creek holding it above water and dropped it at my daughters feet and then took off and joined the chase on momma... Smiley It was a great trip and a beautiful couple of places to hunt.

We had a real good time yesterday... it was good for those young dogs. I can't believe how well that country came back after the drought. It looked like the surface of the moon several months back.

Kendall sure impressed me.. all she asked was how deep it was and jumped in.

Mike,
Not sure if you saw the field, but they are already cutting hay on that place. I don't know that they made a single cutting last year.  Sure hope this rain holds up through the summer.
