have any of yall been on a hog that just wouldn't die? saturday night my buddy calls me and all i can hear is HELP with dogs baying in the back ground! he walks away from the bay and calls back, im already getting my cd at this point, and he said hes had this hog bayed for over a hour and his dogs cant catch em he just throws em right off. well he tells me where he is and i head overthere. i can hear the bay about 200 yrds from the road and throw my catch dog out. when i get to em hogs caught and my buddys stickin em but he aint going down. i jump down there and start sticking the other side and FINALLY he slowly goes down. i got his head and weighed it when i got home 37lbs i thought that was pretty dang nice. moral to the story i was just wondering if anyone else has come across these superman pigs.

Make sure when you stick the air comes out then stick the otherside. He won't fight long not breathing. When I stick I move the knife in a circle. If he don't die I stick the other side and get that lung too. I have had them in a bad spot that I missed the heart but I get the lungs and it is over fast. So no I have not had one that would not die. I did shoot a deer and it ran about 100 yards with no heart or lungs. You take out the lungs and they may fight but not for long. You can also have a partial colapse that is why I move the kife in circles to cut as much as I can.

Last time I seen you drown one, I know of a short woman and fat dog that was trying to hitch a ride back to the other side of the creek.

Jon: Many years ago when I was a kid we bought live hogs off a black guy that raised them. We did not have any scales that went high enough to weigh those hogs. What we did was cut off the head and weigh it and mulitply by 10. Therefore your hog weighed 370. We checked it and it will always be real close.

We had to whittle on the sow for a wile with a buck pocket knife ![Grin](http://www.easttexashogdoggers.com/forum/Smileys/default/grin.gif)
