Looking for a winch to put on a jeep. What brand have used and how reliable was it? What size have u used on a jeep? Leaning toward an 8k.

 x3 mire factor. take the wight of your jeep and multiply by 3 and thas how much you will need with pleanty left over for them just in case issues.

A buddy of mines dad has a 12k warren winch on his jeep. There's been several times we had to call him cause we couldn't get out and its dine the trick everytime but he usually has to anchor to a tree or another truck

8,000 should be enough for a stock jeep. You can get a snatchblock so you can double the power of the winch if need be.  Warn is the best brand. If you aren't gonna use it much a smittybilt would probably do the job and they're half the price. Warn did just come out with a new line of affordable winches, but I haven't seen much of them yet.
