according to a lot of people, the oil field is booming, but cant find 1 that is hiring rite now for non experienced people. you got the military with college afterwards to further your education for a better career. tech schools for welding certs, diesel mech, marine mech. police academy and then on to a police force. you may can try for border patrol or ICE.

I work in the oilfield there are lots of companies that hire without experience, some even prefer it so they can train you. Just like any other job you just have to be honest about work experience!

Nomac, Patterson, nabors, scandrill, latshaw that's just a few company's I can think of off the top of my head!

Hope this helps  Smiley

Look into the unions. Some might not like them, and I come from a family of union haters so I understand why. Lol but they have some great apprenticeship programs. I just started the construction wireman program, and am really enjoy it. I have a friend who is in the plumbing program, and it's about the same as well.  There's good benefits, and raises after each semester you finish. Plus you start out at more than most jobs you can get at 19. You go to school as you work, but it's pretty easy. It's like most things though, it is what you make of it. Be a slacker, and the kind of stereotypical union worker, and you'll stay at the bottom spinning your wheels forever. Work hard and take care of business and it will quickly begin to pay off. Let me know if you need help I could give you some more details, and hopefully point you in the right direction.

Drive to Alice and go to every company on the main drag. Literally they are all hiring someone. Look at Fesco. Just go in and talk. Online or phone calls mean nothing!!!

You need to look at Fluor. They have entry level positions. You will have to travel but you will make good money. If you don't want to leave home, best get your butt in the union apprenticeship or convince mommy and daddy to pay for school. If you go to tech school, learn instrumentation. You will stand at an instrument with pocket tools making 25 an hour watching electricians pull cables and work thier asses off for 20.

A lot of companies are going strictly to online apps these days! As far as the oilfield my best advice is put in your app and give it a couple of days then start calling and keep calling until you get some definite answers!

Bus. 281. If you have a CDL there are about 6 signs outside companies looking for drivers and they are hiring on the spot(as long as you can pass a drug test and physical).

You may not like the work or the entry level pay or having me push you to your limits, but if you don't mind long hours and being out of town I'd like to talk to you.

I'll be back in town next week and I highly value my family/ hunting time so if you have a problem passing random drug tests, background checks or if you don't get along with Hispanics, don't bother getting in touch with me, but if all of that is fine and you never ask to borrow my dogs, you may pm me and I'll give you my number.

If you don't mind going to school a few more years, get an associate degree in nursing. I'm dum as a bag of hammers and i've made a pretty good living in the operating room. If you hogdog, and can field care your dogs, you can nurse. And people always gonna get sick. Cool thing about associates degree is n most cases, u can work, continue schooling on line and get your B.S. while working as a nurse and making good $$$. And you usually can get a B.S. that way quicker than just signing up for a straight B.S. program. Thing i hate about working n operating room is call. Been taking call for 35+ years and it really screws your weekends up.
Also, know u in Texas, but in Alabama, Mercedes plant, Hyundai, Honda, all take applications online. Also building a huge railroad hub just outside Birmingham and there's all kinds of railroad jobs online. If your willing to move around, Railroad will do pretty good by you. Good luck, young fella. You'll do good cuz you sound like you WANT to work, and that right there will put u ahead of 95% of the applicants where ever to try out.
