he would have to go to school for his A&P since he cant join the military. the a&p schools aint cheap, but also aint over priced. you can search around and find accredited schools that will get you your a&p license for around $1000-3000, all expenses paid.

Why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away? An elected legislature can trample a man's rights as easily as a king can!

Yes charles he probably would need to get the licence to work commercial aircraft or apply for contracting aviation jobs. It's really hard to get a shot without license.

Auto tech isn't a bad field . You have to know what you are doing to make money. Usually you start off as a tech assist at 12.50 then move up ,usually in 6months, to tech making around $18. If you know what you re doing its gravy work.

Go work on some oil rig..... Start out as a rough neck and move your way up. Take advantage of it while you're young and damn good money but no time to spend it. Got a buddy who is making around 24 hourly but works overtime all the time and gets paid double so really its 48 hourly.

I'm in the MEP engineering field doing drafting and design work on schools, hospitals and other city buildings. If you can learn a program called Revit you'd have a solid job for a long time with multiple companies. Everyone is switching from AutoCAD to Revit and it's cutting the draftsmen out of the equation and the engineers just put the information in basically and Revit does the drafting.

I tried army and marines right after I got outa high school and both told me no because I 6 months before my physical for em I tore my ACL and mcl and I know what you mean about the oilfield I been tryin that after I was told I couldn't volunteer to serve my country and due to the bills I have I can't afford not to have a full time job
Did you have your ACL repaired? If so, by now you should be healed and ready to go. Once it is healed, the military should be a good option.

i will end up doing that now that I got a lil money. being unemployed and driving 3 hrs 1 way with price of fuel digs deep into the wallet.
That's true, but, with a job the wallet fills back up. Without, it keeps getting lower. So spend what you have to to find a job that you need.

Once it is healed, the military should be a good option. rite now the military is going through a RIF (reduction in force). they are putting people out that want out, med boarding, allowing early retirement, not extending retention contracts for senior officers and enlisted. if he was told NO a couple years ago, and they have him still on file, they still more than likely will not allow him in becuase he will need a waiver and they are not granting a lot of waivers rite now. the military is down sizing again, just like during the clinton administration.

Sad to hear that you have to go to A'ghan to work. That is not optimal. I wish you luck in finding something here. I find the phrase "like white on rice" odd. You do know that rice has to be bleached to be white right? In it's normal state, it is brownish in color. Then again, many of our sayings are illogical. Knock on wood for good luck ... has it's origin in old europe where cultures thought the tall trees held up the skies, where the god's lived. So they knelt at the base of the tree, knocked on it, then asked their favors from the gods. And now it has evolved to warding off bad luck. Strange. So very strange.

hey, I see that you are from Manvel...lots of chemical plants around...if you don't like to travel you really need to get that 2 year degree...as a youngster I wanted everything right now... but you are very young and time is on your side...you can sacrifice now for 2 years and it will pay big in the long run...get the loans and go get that 2 year associates degree femical operator at brazosport in Clute...you will be picked up by a chemical company and they pay well with good benefits...the good thing is that your job stays in one location...and as long as you are dependable and a good worker that works well with others you are pretty much guaranteed a job for many years...this is one of the 2 year degrees that gives a big bang for the bucks...the good part is that you probably will not have to move from where you are at because of the location of most of the plants...not too far from manvel...good luck in getting your career started...
