One more week... of BLASTED night hunting... MAN I hate night hunting.   But any hunting is better than no hunting... so hunt we did out at the same "coyote" property we hit a while back...

Caught 5 or 6 chit hogs the first night... highlight being Whaler/Spinner baying "something" big up and Whaler gettin' his lower canine promptly knocked clean out and both dogs quitting it and coming back whipped and bleeding.... Grin.... sombitches...

...next night, put Lee's dogs down and hit the same animal in the same spot, ran the same damn track... dogs quit it acting all "spooked" again... strange, strange chit...   almost "squatch-like" HAHA  Undecided Grin

couple pics...

Whaler and choate he piled up about 10 seconds after comin' out the box.... he's becoming a HELL of a wind dog...

... the immortal Shiner dog held by SJ-muss... my "Shine"... don't call it a comeback... she's been here for years...  Grin  First time I've let her try to hunt since her severe rear-leg injury... she got a good limp, but you wouldn't be able ta tell by how she hunted  Grin   To say she looked happy in this picture after catching her first hog in months would be an understatement... when I let her get up on the box with me to wind as we rode into the property, she laid her head in my lap and just cried... never seen a dog so happy/gratefull to be allowed to hunt again... I love this damn dog...

My Whaler dog... so eager to please, willing to tolerate even my daughter's extreme abuse...  Grin  Just a good ol' dog he is...

Good hunt...dogs are really turning it up a notch.

I've seen a few dogs who aren't hunted at night but every once in awhile, especially younger dogs, get boogered by a big male hog who isn't scared to whoop on em alil.  He got his bluff on em, but next time will be a different story I'm sure.

I feel your pain brother,.....I hate night hunting as well. Be interesting to find out what the 'booger' was that they bayed up. As for Shine,.....well, they just have more intuition than we sometimes realize. Good pics and glad you're getting to hunt even if you can't see nothin' much.....  Undecided We went a round this morning after I got off duty.....to check on our 'town' hogs. Dogs hunted very well since we had a bit of frost on the punkin' this morning. Just never found anything they could run, my buddy didn't want to get into the territory that has some sows with little pigs he's been seeing on the trail cam. It was good to get out and see some rottin' and rubbin', but no hog in the basket....good luck buddy.

Glad to hear Shiner healed up and is on the road back.  Good for her!
